Ian, just posted in Crewroom - Dangers of Ceilidh Music.
I copied all my classical CD's (400) to disk using EAC and FLAC format, and bought a Panasonic Blu-ray DVD player which plays FLAC files off thumb drives. Will never go back to MP3, which loses so much that makes listening a pleasure.

Don't profess to being an audiophile but am able to compare commercial Julian Bream lute CD's with my digitised vinyl versions of the same tracks and I can hear the difference immediately. Hearing his chair squeak when he shifts his weight is what makes vinyl a real experience, as opposed to sanitised commercial crap. My recordings come from humans not machines.
