I launched a huge clean up of a yahoo account the other night 12 Thousand plus items cleaned up. Deleted from inboxes & sent and consigned to deleted, and then the deleted was deleted, and everything was was showing 'Empty'.....

Tonight my 'Deleted' folder has dozens of messages, some going back to 2008!, how did they 'come back'?

I do not understand Facebook, but I had to join as a 'Nom de Plume' ....I sent a 'message' to someone as an invite, then tried to erase the 'message', it did but with a brief message, so fast I could not read it all stating that even though it is deleted people will still be able to read it!?!?!.....so by way of definition of the English language, when something is deleted it is deleted,....but with this social meedja deleted does not mean deleted?

Re 1), all I can suggest is that you may not have actually selected 'ALL' for deletion and the 'empty' folder you were seeing was just the 'selected'? Have you tried again?

I found a long forgotten sub sub folder that contained words that turned up in my search...so that's where things were...right back to a an almost forgotten 2005 San Fran accomm confirmation!

I think the FB message about deleted messages tells you it's been deleted but that people can still report it, so if they read it before it was deleted and took offence, removing the evidence doesn't work.
