Sad to hear that my ISP Plusnet is ceasing its 'YouView' service. I now need a broadband+phone+YouView provider and am finding great difficulty making my way through various company web pages.

Can anyone point me at an ISP that can provide? BT are hideously expensive and TalkTalk is very confusing when I try to see available channels. Are there any others? Adding YouView to a Plusnet Account is not available on the YouView website.

I have Talktalk and I believe You View. I got their black box years ago and stopped using it 4 years ago. I find Freeview and Amazon Prime give me more channels and viewing options than I have time or inclination to watch.

I will miss channels like Nat Geo and HD.

British TV Club and TV Mucho. Neither requires a Box. Both are OK until too many people watch the same event.

You probably are not familiar with the YouView box. It is not just a 'live' facility. It enables recording of two channels together and has a useful programme guide.

I looked again at the TT offer. National Geographic is available at CH 317 but is an add on to the basic TT TV package.

Ah! The difficulty is trying to 'join'! What are the monthly boost prices - 'Select' and 'Entertainment'. Does your TV box record?

I just looked at Now TV, that boost had £5.99 and two £9.99 boosts. I didn't find out which gave NG but suspect it might be £9.99. As I looked more I found less!

While looking for NG sent me to Now I could not find where it was in the package. If simple boost £5.99, if in Entertainment £9.99.

I admit to simply Netflix basic at £5.99 and Amazon at £79pa. On the latter I use their free delivery a lot.

I mentioned two internet services. Mrs OFSO has one, she's had it for years. I have the other, TV Mucho which offers an hour free each day, all I need, but they jumped me with a half price year's subscription for 24/7 so I took it. I won't renew as I only ever watch Spanish and Catalan TV which are all in English on the second audio channel. I can't see any need for any sort of box when you can get all the UK channels on phone, tablet and TV without it.

You are confusing me with somebody else. I didn't claim I could 'record'. However both internet TV systems have "catch up" which precludes the need to record, unless you need to keep an item for weeks or months. My Spanish TV comes thru an Android box with a USB socket and a 'record' button, but I've never used it. In fact such is the appalling quality of nearly all TV these days that it's an imposition to watch it once, never mind again. Can't beat a good book.

We get internet, phone (rarely used) radio, CCTV and TV via a 4G box sitting on a bracket inside the window. As the French arrive in August, quality of signal drops and TV stutters. Assuming it was the fastest way to reset the box I've been turning it off and on again. Worked, sort of. This evening I poked a paperclip in the reset hole. Quite different result. Instant success. Pity we humans don't have a reset hole.
