Windows11 Boot splash Screen

#1 Post by Boac » Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:31 am

I am the proud (??) owner of a reconditioned HP laptop with W11. Very pleased with the price and condition.

Now - the HP splash screen on boot shows the previous owner at the top of the screen for few seconds. I gather this is in the BIOS. Anyone know how to get at the setting?

I believe there is an ownership tag in the security section of the BIOS
Failing that, it may have been entered as a custom logo, so just disable that, or upload your own.

1] may not be on Windows 11 HPs. I've switched to Linux now. Sorry I can't help further.

From today, I am the owner of a refurbished HP Win10 laptop. Singularly unimpressed with Win10 which is obviously designed for flaneurs and boulevardiers and poseurs.

Now OFSO has driven us 'off piste' - try 'Classic Shell' which will take you back in time.

Bring back Win XP.

Or even Win. H'eight.

( Admin2 - have you deleted my previous comments about Win 98 for instance, or have I been got at by the Digital Age - and Win 10 ? )

Thanks ! Think so, Digital Age wins again, can't remember but I was commenting on the difficulties noted on site about constantly changing Win. operating systems and pointed out that I was perfectly happy with Win 98, even Win H'eight. Why do they have to keep changing everything ? My parents didn't even have a landline telephone at home until after I had left home, at age 21, not through fear that I would cost them a fortune, none of my friends had one either, if I wanted to meet a mate I'd go round and knock on their door, male or female. We survived without seeing a photograph of what they were eating for dinner, too.

Fox - you were spot on! 'Ownership tag' - found it with HP support help and erased.
