Questionable Email With Attachment

#1 Post by PHXPhlyer » Wed Aug 17, 2022 3:08 pm

I received an email this morning whose address which I Googled, goes back to a law firm. The email has an attachment that appears to be an invoice.
How can I view the attachment safely without opening it into my computer's OS? :-ss

The important thing is whether you're expecting an invoice from said law firm. If not, then delete it unopened.

If I'm not expecting a bill then I'm definitely not going to be opening attachments, they can send me a paper copy if it's real.

To the best of my knowledge, you can't.
Email the company using the address given on their website, not via reply to email, and ask them if they sent you a bill.
Odds are they didn't.

Why bother ? You must know if you have recently had interaction with a law firm, 'specifically the one named ?

I must have a dozen parcels awaiting delivery, as I haven't replied to a single notification, stating the tracking number given.

And today I've refused to accept a NZ $50,000 prize from a lottery win.

I wish I could stop the currently twice daily telephoned "advice" that there have been 2 "suspicious" payments on my VISA card.

Welcome to the digital age !

I'm assuming it was a recorded announcement, but if not, "Only two? The wife is behaving herself then".

My card company blocked payment when I tried to buy a suit. Clearly it knows that this is not something on which I'd normally spend my money.
