Windows boot-up (W10)

After the last M$ update I have lost the 'spinning wheel' that used to show before username entry. Curious as to why, although it is not so far a problem, but it did give me an indication of 'boot' in progress. Now a blank screen then the username entry panel appears.

Gargle directs me to a 'Windows animation' setting checkbox (which has remained checked) so it isn't that. Any ideas?

Last time W10 did something like that to me, I switched to Linux for everything, except one computer still running W7.
I have had no system troubles since.

Stand down Dad's Army! Problem inexplicably solved. I decided to access BIOS on boot (<DELETE>), had a shufti and could see nothing adrift, selected 'SAVE and EXIT' and boot is now back to normal with my spinning thingummy.

Ah........... I wish I knew......................... 8-|

Oh oh! Next boot, same as before. No whizzy.

EDIT: 'Fast Start' was turned off?? (Now on and we will see next boot.)
