What's the procedure for uploading an image to this site to include it in a post?

Plum - you can upload from your own computer.
Select the "Full Editor & Preview" button at the bottom of the "Quick Reply" box.
Click "Attachments" (you may have to scroll down to see that).
Click Add Files.
Select the image from your computer and click "Open".
When it shows in the box under "Add Files", click "Place Inline"
..and Robert's your uncle.
