Amazing pics, Mrs ex-A. My streaming (Amazon Prime) goes to 'screensaver' when not active and also has stunning pics. I suspect these will also be used. The Reine pic just does not look real - amazing.

Those were quite something. For me the best was the second one, the bat taking water. I find bats fascinating, unfortunately SWMBO is paranoid about them, even the sweet little ones that come round on summer nights and eat mozzies and flies. She goes inside and hides under the bedclothes!

Some fabulous photos here; https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... wards.html :)

And some impressive ones taken by children; I would fail miserably to take such photos myself even if we still had a decent camera. ^:)^

^ some fabulous photos. The one of the storks nesting on the pylons is among the most intriguing to me, so fraught with possibilities...

I don't envy the judges task of picking the winners with this selection of excellent photos; https://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/esca ... ealed.html :)

My favourite piccy is the lion, but then I am probably biased. I love big pussy cats. :x

^ Thank you for the link.

I like the surfer under the 'glassy, cool, translucent wave', and the Maine lighthouse in the fog at sunset :)

Speaking of Voyager (space one) and cell phones, saw a great documentary on the development of Voyagers I and II. Apparently the electronics etc. in a cell phone are far more sophisticated than the innards of these space probes. Amazing that they are still operating. At the last minute before launching, they lined the probes with tin foil to prevent overheating. Someone nipped out to a local supermarket and bought out their entire stock.
