I went to get a new set of tyres for my car in Montrose today and just a hundred yards from the tyre fitting place was the Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre. It's a very small museum run entirely by about 100 volunteers. I found it fascinating - especially the BE2 replica which was made by the Centre's volunteers using plans from 1913. Rather than me going on about what they have on display it's worth having a look at their website at Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre. I spent a very pleasant couple of hours looking round. Here's a collage of the very few iPhone photos I took:

Thanks for that. A surprisingly good website full of great information. Somewhere to spend several hours next time we're up that way.
