Was yours signed by the author?

Mine was, but I hadn't asked for it. I'd rather have had Mike Beetham sign his foreword.
Yes ian16th I have the Colin Cruddas signed copy.
I wonder if he signed them all?
I don't think it would have been a big job.
It was you by the way that tipped me off about the signed book. :)

Ground crew carried little radiation monitor tags; aircrew were not issued with them.
That would be the little dosimeters we carried clipped to our denims. Mine use to glow in the dark.

Alison, that's the one. I don't know when they were introduced or when they were withdrawn. It was probably at the height of atmospheric testing and stopped once the contamination levels had dropped. I have no idea how much contamination we collected flying well above the Trop.

We didn't have them at Marham, even after 49 Sqdn arrived!

You wouldn't get much inside your aluminum toob, shirley. Remember when they modified the wash pan so all the water could be collected and taken away. I believe it was all taken off to the officers mess to be used for their ablutions. The rest of us had to make do with what we found in puddles.
