TGG, we had an idea too. I think it was one of two Gnats under the wing of a bomber.
I suppose if sitting on a bomb waving a Stetson is not unreasonable, spending 3 hours strapped under aluminium overcast before being dropped off with insufficient fuel is quite logical.
The idea has yet to die as we are considering a loyal wing man concept with your manned fighter and unmanned autonomous drones.
