Re: The Mirage
Funnily enough I wore this polo shirt yesterday when I went to get my jab as I wanted to be able to lift my sleeve. Unfortunately I haven't been involved with any F-1 flying.

RiS, you are to be complimented on your foresight wearing appropriate clothing for your jab.
Our politicians to a man, well man at least, seem to wear jacket, shirt and tie that necessitates their stripping to their manly waists, moobs and all.

Rather a bad spectacle the one you describe PN For some reason most politicians consider the formal attire as a pre-requisite to make the job.

Re: The Mirage
I may have mentioned this before on the forum. We were coming back from Cyprus empty and asked for FL430 over ffrogland. The frog military said they rarely had a military aircraft that high that they could do a practice intercept on may they send a Mirage up to us. I said sure and shoved the speed up to 0.93M They couldn't catch us.

Re: The Mirage
I came across this rather fine shot of a Vulcan being escorted by a Balbo (a fascinating guy who is worthy of a whole thread of his own), or, rather, a formation of Australian Mirages.
The photo was noted in an early, and very thoughtful Christmas present, sent to my a good friend who gave me permission to open it early and read the trio therein, comprising of 3 books namely Valiant, Vulcan, Victor Units of the Cold War. All well written by Andrew Brookes and with some really good photos and colour plates and technical drawings of all marques of the respective aircraft.
