Llondel
Llondel
Quite a few familiar names on here, so clearly I found the right place. Was on TOP and found myself banned from parts of it with no warning or explanation, which I'm sure is a familiar story. A brief radar contact guided me here and I appear to have landed safely.
I'm more engineer (but not aviation) than pilot, with flying at the front limited to a couple of Cessna flights and a fun experience in one of Duxford's Tiger Moths. I have an interest in the safety side of things and the way investigators can piece together evidence and come up with the cause. This stems from my first trip to the US in Nov 1997 where I turned up at the factory I was visiting the morning after arriving and was asked if I'd seen the news about "the plane crash at Heathrow". A bit of questioning and poking around and I discovered that it was the aircraft I'd flown out on the night before (G-VSKY). I read the accident report when it came out and the level of detail sparked my interest and I've stuck around ever since.

Welcome, think you’ll find plenty of people on here with a similar opinion on TOP, as we like to call it, but you’re unlikely to have same problem here as we’re treated as adults, even if we don’t always behave like them
Noticed that you’ve put San Jose as base, ever met LaserNigel?

When all else fails, read the instructions.
Re: Llondel
Not that I know of. San Jose has a million people living in it (technically we're about 400ft outside) so I'm unlikely to find anyone unless by prior arrangement.
In other news, it rained for the first time in five months yesterday.

Welcome Llondel from Oz, and Admin and Alison, and ......
Fair bit of rain down here as well. Believe we've now had more this October than the previous twelve months.

Welcome aboard, spend a lot of time in CA I do, being married to one of them. Not familiar with San Jose, but know SFO, normally spend time in Santa Monica / LA but enjoyed Santa Barbara for the first time recently.

Welcome aboard. The other shower will.ban you if they know you're here, thus making your presence more valuable to us!
Re: Llondel
Welcome, LLondel. You'll find that in the apparent absence of moderation, everyone plays nicely. Even when we disagree, we disagree about the subject, and it doesn't lead to the personal insults noticeable in TOP.
And it's all good fun.

I happily post to both forums, under the same name.

Belated welcome from me also (been in Belgium playing golf).
I am also an engineer and also banned from various forums on TOP for no apparent reason.

Another "hello" from the Lancs/Yorks border. I'm "persona -non-grata" on TOP....every thread locked but PM's still work!.... readable if I don't log -in. My pet theory is that many are kept registered ,merely to pad the figures and make them more attractive to advertisers. Anyway, lots of "banished" refugees here and an
