Alison is going walkabout for a few days.

#1 Post by admin » Wed Oct 14, 2015 2:49 am

Going to be away for a few days - Thursday through Monday, inc. Leaving early Thursday my time, and hope to be back late Monday. Driving up to Sydney - distance just over 1000kms, and then back after visiting rellies. Would earnestly request everybody to play nicely while I'm away. I will try to look in, but can't promise anything at this stage.

Everything seems to be pretty stable on the new commercial webhost, so don't anticipate any techy issues.

Please 500N do NOT post an open invitation on farsebook for an all-comers party at my place. I believe that the last time a person did that at his parents home nearly two thousand turned up. :(

I should be able to bring about a dozen bottles of Barossa Shiraz! :ymdevil: Might even be able to find a bottle of Single Malt as well! :D

Don't worry Alison. We'll play nice now, won't we chaps? :D ;) And Ladies!

Why those announcements are often seen as invitations to be naughty? Not I have any intention on being naughty but it is a recurring thought.

"Not I have any intention on being naughty..." - well, that always 'just happens', doesn't it.

When I was a kid and we went to the forest to 'hunt mushrooms', my Mom always gave me a knife and told: "Don't lose it, then." Don't remember how many times I did (lose it), but the horror set in the very moment the ominous words had sounded.

Have fun, Alison! :)

I'm alcohol free at the moment, so you may drink what I'm missing!

Have a good trip.

Why would anyone return to Melbourne after seeing what Sydney has to offer?

Absolutely !

Sydney has a couple of good things but Melbourne is a far more livable city.
Easier to get around.

And better weather ! (Less rain, less humidity)

Sydney is glorious on a good day but awful on the all too frequent bad days.
