Thanks for all the good wishes. This a map of the drive. Actual distance 785kms one way on the clock.

Did it once in Subbie there and back - 1,570 kms. Then driving 3 tonne truck - 1,570 Km. Then in fully-loaded Subbie one way - 785km

Good on you Alison, whereabouts in Syders are you?
When not there on business I always stayed with mates who congregated from Manly northwards. Dee Why, Curl Curl and the like, all the way up to Palm Beach. Wonderful places!

Edited to add, Yikes! I misread the post, you are not in Syders! Sorry!
All generalisations are false, including this one.

Let us know when you are back - will be edgy and worried until then. Only you and the Pope matter to so many people (although lets face it, he has the prettier frocks !)

Somehwere near Batemans Bay. Did a similar journey nearly 20 years ago but I wasn't driving and it was over a couple of weeks with A Tent and a Greyhound 9000km pass. Stayed at Batemens Bay as part of my Round Aus trip (well we went up the middle so not quite round Aus!) before heading to Eden, Sale, Phillip Island and Melbourne. Lovely part of the country.
I hate Signatures!

Something Tall Bird wrote reminded me of G&T in the other place; I wonder?Last time I moved house I got everything I was keeping,- including two settees, in the back of the car Got stopped by police just outside Antwerpen, first about the dog but the penguin in the pax seat really upset them.
