Oh dear! I last saw the Vulcan when it was a pretty modern aircraft!

Thinking of Keef and hoping he gets the treatment the NHS is supposed to give.

Good day all. Started off dull today. Done shopping and making chicken adobo for all my friends.

Lots of TRABB force to Keef.

Fingers crossed for what was said in court Ibby.

PM replied Happy SLF.

Shame not there to see XH558. Saw those and Shackletons being built at A.V. Roes when both my Aunties worked there as telephonists. Father Christmas used t come in an Anson.

HF,

Get yourself over to Belvoir Castle tomorrow at about 4.00pm, as 558 is due to pass there on her way back to Doncas Finningley. Make a bit of a day of it as we are having an open day on me canal at the Mucky Duck. There's tea and cakes, a duck race, boat rides and other stuff all designed to encourage folks part with their cash.

Best wishes to Keef and all those who are not in the best of health.

Just checked last night's lottery ticket - I is a winner :ymparty: - all of £3.80. :ymparty:

500N, the duck racing I've seen was in (or near) Helston, Cornwall. Lots of little yellow numbered plastic ducks. Pay a quid for a number. All the ducks are chucked into the river. The first duck past the winning post down stream wins the prize (a third of the take, the rest to charity).

Over to you 4ma!

Edited to add thanks for the pic!

I hope Keef will be given the drug - there will be needed a person with his profile.

Nice idea that duck racing.

The ultimate Duck Drift was when a container load of Friendly Floatees, 29,000 of them, fell off a ship in the North Pacific and burst open, in 1992. The dispersion of them is still being used to test Ocean Current models. The first ones started showing up in the UK in 2007.

Actually, it was a mix of yellow Ducks, red Beavers, blue Turtles and green Frogs. Should you be on the lookout, the Ducks and Beavers have now faded to white.

An excellent evening had by all. To slightly misquote the old music hall joke: I'm not in bed yet so I''m going home!

What Angels said. Being on a canal, the water flow is a bit on the slowish side so it wouldn't be a race rather a very leisurely drift along on any wind. To get round that, the race is held along the by-wash (spill-way) of the lock adjacent to our depot where there is a decent flow of water. The guy who organises the race, which has various obstacles along its course, is very skilful at getting the flow just right - too fast and the race is over in seconds, too slow and the ducks don't move. There's prizes for first, second, third and last!!

Special for today - we have a genuine German World War 1 field kitchen what does a very decent soup plus one of our members runs an owl sanctuary and he's bringing some of his feathered friends. I'm helping with our trip boat. Having an early breakfast cos it's going to be a long day.

Mornin', all. Thoughts are with Keef; that's not great news.

On earlies this morning. Probably won't see SWMBO for a while yet; we were out with friends for dinner last night. I was very well-behaved; one diet Coke and then just water. Beef carpaccio, then rabbit. MrsP had mussels then rack of lamb. She's taking my Mum and the dottirs for a china painting class later today which means I get to watch the F1 in peace.
