The Coroner has finally released my cousin's body for cremation along with all necessary paperwork. Cremation scheduled for 4th March.

She and her husband were planning a trip back to Stalybridge for this summer.
Looks like the travel restrictions will be eased in May at the earliest. We so want to return for a look round various locations.
At the moment Wodrick, it's a bit half cocked. It's alright Boris charging around with release dates and people booking holidays to come to Spain, but,
the people here still are awaiting vaccines to arrive so they can have their jabs. They are only just about getting to the over 80's in Andalucia. Spain can't open to foreign tourists until the vacination program is far more advanced. It's all been f*cked up by Mad Macron denouncing the Astra Zenica vaccine as unfit for older people, to the rest of the EU.

I'm making no plans until I've had a jab and travel restrictions going to and from have been made easier.

Morning folks. Not a bad effort GG.

Cracking morning first thing so took the ship out. Quite a strong easterly. Headed down wind (up stream) after battling through the weed and lilies to get into clear water then I was concerned about getting back into wind with the big upper deck infrastructure so turned around to go down stream. Got about a km past the estate and our resident hippo surfaced just off our starboard bow. Did a 180 to head back to the jetty and he tracked us. The only clearish bit of water to approach the jetty goes straight past his house. He was formatting on our port side and we were concerned if we got too close to his place he would go for us. We had to dive through very dense weed to get to the jetty at an awkward approach angle. The wind was blowing us off track and the prop was getting fouled so we had to do a go around with the hippo laughing at us. :))

Now we have got a CID visit. Apparently the two thugs who were let out on bail are still reporting every Friday. Max sentence for armed robbery with GBH is life. We were sure they would have legged it. Two still in the nick. We have had to sign more statements which describe the bastards of a 'dark completion'. They looked bloody black to us but we signed.

TGG, nice music but the visuals a bit boring 😁

Oh us as well, we won't go until there is no extra charges and no quarantine, we could not afford £3500 in hotel bills for instance.
It's all out of control.

Pleased the family has a body to cremate.

Good that you have a date for the cremation now Ibbie. What a shame she didn't manage to
get back to Staly Vegas for a last visit. That said, I suspect I have paid my last trip there too.
Nothing to go for now. :(

We're also holding off on visits to the UK. Four tests per person!. No.

I am not sure it is a double charge but imagine the stress, checking the news every day, trying to get a flight home before the rules change, rearranging little details like car parking, kennels, sorting bills etc that occur during quarantine.

The ones I have no sympathy are the ones coming to UK from abroad when they did not have to travel. How do they make people pay if they don't have a couple of ££££ spare?

The annoying thing is that we can get to Calais with no formalities. Trains running normally from Perpignan, an hours drive away. No controls at the Spanish border with France, despite infections rising exponentially in France. New lockdown there but only at weekends, silly sods.

We were due to have a couple of vials of vaccine brought down to DIY today but our agent has been diverted elsewhere.

Scheduled to go into what is effectively quarantine (no going out, no shopping etc.) from this coming Saturday for 14 days, to protect better half's mom who is staying with us and who is scheduled to go in for surgery on day 14 after a Covid test. I think I might lose whatever is left of my rational mind (not a lot left to go, I admit) thereafter. Thank God for ops-normal! ;)))

Wx is utterly shite today. Not at all cold, but nasty rain and windypuff.

No hippos visible in me river. No water hyacynths or lilies either.

Lambing goes on as it's an indoor event. Land surveying of a newly acquired parcel of ground is suspended, as is fencing work to keep the damned deer out.

Laying in a good stock of microwaveable popcorn ready for Salmond's appearance before the Committee tomorrow. I'm not at all a fan of the man, or of his politics, but what happened to him shouldn't happen to a dog. The thorough rottenness of the Scottish legal system and of its government is deeply pukey and needs to be exposed in public for what it is.

I wasn't sure whether he was going for the long runway or short
I suspect with a full X-wind on that day he might have been able to land across the runway. Howling Mistral.
Useless piece of trivia.

Base aérienne 115 Orange-Caritat, only runway was deliberately built out of the prevailing wind.

This was because a Resistance Worker in the French Met Office gave duff gen on the prevailing wind to the Armée de l'Air de Vichy who built the airfield.

A little awkward when the Mistral blows!

I am not suggesting that such tunnels might, not given enough, ingenuity (give or take the occasional explosion), time (and overruns etc.) and, most importantly, money, be possible to construct but would they make economic sense given the potential cost? The answer is a resounding no methinks!

I had better not allow my better half see the Faroe video.... her shopping bag says it all...

Approximately around the time all those bunker rant videos were being made, Matey was obsessed with the architectural plans and models of his fantasy city, to be called Germania.

I do hope that Lord Boris Of The Island hasn't quite reached that stage of loopiness.

Keitel; Jodl, Krebs; Bergdorf and Symonds will remain.....

I wonder how much that cost us.

If the BoJo tunnel went to Dublin they could get the EU to fund it.

I don't approve of Sea Shepheard or of their terrorist tactics.

Neither do I approve of that style of whaling.
