Freixnet Italian? I think not. You have to buy a top Cava to get a good one.
Thankfully it was just a 200ml bottle :)

Thank you all for your messages... actually, she took it very well, except for one thing. People of a particular gender tend to have a rather long memory, I find.
In the Summer of 1998 'er and me married, and I bought - as one does - presents for the bridesmaids, wrapped them, and put them safe (presents, not bridesmaids). Wedding day, couldn't find them. Urgent and late replacements found, wrapped and duly presented.
Six months later, Frau Jim was in the church banging all sorts of hell out of the piano. I wanted to practice, so went to my (much inferior) piano in the study. Lost presents found.
I didn't remember that incident - but someone else did, and I, and several friends, have heard the story multiple times in the last two days.

Ya gotta laff!

This morning (Sunday) I got up just as the central heating was switching on. I went to perform my morning blood sugar level but the meter gave me a weird error code. Looking the code up in the handbook I discovered that for the first time in 10 years the machine had decided that it was too cold to operate. Another check an hour later was OK.

One very lucky Staffie, Hugo, who guzzled 6 six packets of chocolate coins this Christmas, and who lived to tell, and lick, his tale, er tail! Perhaps his name will now be changed to Theo, as in theobromine?

Good morning all. Here in the UK we are celebrating Christmas Day Bank Holiday.
A strange concept which isn't stopping me taking Billy to be checked over at the
City Hospital this morning after his Covid exposure.

Miserable weather, fog, 6°C and a smattering of light rain.

Morning folks.

Normal working day here, for them that works.

Heavy dew overnight and it's 14c...going up, past ladies undergarments, to a possible high of 20c,

One of the seaweed pages is forecasting no rain for next 10 days.

Here's wishing you nominal test results, HF. I think a long solitary walk along the Thames today for me while the Ladies go to visit the children and the Men go to Twickers for the rugby.

Not sure he's going to thank us for the suit, though.
Not at his wedding may be, but by the time he is 70 he will want one.

Surprised Peter Sellers hasn't been whitewashed by the woke ones.

I still can't find a link to the film itself.

I remember it as being very funny. I'd like to see it again, though I doubt it would get past the prudish censors nowadays. No token niggah; no woofterism; blatant shagging going on, etc.

The man was a total bastard, being exceedingly unpleasant to his multiple wives, friends and mostly to his son Michael. He was, also, a comic genius. Such are, often, the contradictions inherent in very funny people vide. Tommy Cooper!

Morning All,
18c, no rain on the horizon so we get wind instead gusting 40km/h trending upwards.

Fairly full day, help with beds, woodyard, luncheon, provisions, pedicure and rest !

Hope Billy checks out, on past performance should be done by now.

Up early again *LG*

A very early good morning to all. Hubs has been rattling around since 2 am. I gave up around 3.30 am. Foggy here-temps predicted by the guessers up in the high 70s. Might have a potter in the garden-do a bit of clean up. I was going to go walking at the mall, but realized that all the ungrateful bastards would be returning gifts today, so scrapped that plan.

GG-lovely picture of the young chap.

Fliegs-thanks for that clip. Good way to start the day :))

One set of neighbours has Covid. Fortunately we haven't been near them. Our next door neighbour came over yesterday and we cracked a couple of bottles of Prosecco on the porch. Fortunately, she doesn't have a lot to do with them either. They are fairly new arrivals to the 'hood. In their 30s, so they don't bother much with us old farts.

A patient wound down a window today, passed me the 'validation' papers printed by a colleague before me, as I was about to perform the 'procedure' he looked me in the eye and said,....I tested positive last week...I thought heaven help me now I am about to to get as close as possible to this 'thing' right now!...I am literally staring it in the face.....even though I cannot see it....its before me right there,...

Well done EA01. ^:)^

Last week in the small unit where I went to have the monoclonal antibody infusion
there were 6 patients in total. Every single one of us having tested positive via a
PCR in the last 48 hours. The staff just got on with the job in hand.
Every one of them a hero in my eyes and that includes you too EA01.
