While sitting outside yesterday I was greeted with the fly-in of another two birds that had not been seen since we moved here 8years ago, the first was a
Currawong and the other was a Sacred Kingfisher, the variety of bird life on our property is amazing with so many species and all the varied calls from that
of the common House Sparrow to the laughter of the Kookaburras.

Nice birdies. The Currawong has the light of intelligence in his eye :)

This morning I was doing some tests on in-camera focus stacking when I attracted the interest of this king parrot.

^ They really are vivid red and green, and are very cheeky. They seem to be very curious and will happily come and watch what you're doing.

Morning folks. Just to keep the bird theme going our pelicans are back. Dunno where they have been. Cloudy with a drip of rain forecast.

We were not here when the electrician finished yesterday. He has left the feed to the bore hole pump strewn across all the electrics for the solar power, CCTV and internet. A real jungle bunny job.

Cool and grey up here too after days of blazing sun. Heating on and wearing scarf indoors.

My post of yesterday seems to have vanished in the ether.

Many congratulations to Reddo's SIL and PHXPhlyer's daughter. Wonderful achievements all around. :-bd

Makes me smile and we will see if the beeb read these pages.

Today is election day for a new President of Finland.

The current one's term expires after 12 years (2x6years is max).

The BBC has nothing on it's European pages about it as at 1400 local.

It was mentioned on the BBC Radio 4 news last night and this morning.

Ricardian.

Thanks for that, I had assumed that, as one cannot access bbc iplayer (yes, I know there are workarounds) here, I could not receive live radio.

You caused me to look more carefully at the BBC site and I see that I can, in fact, listen to it.

When I lived in UK, one of the delights was World at One and the program that came before it.

Thank you, again.

Alan

Good Morning All,

13°c currently, Winter is back, 86% humidity in low cloud, but not as all enveloping as yesterday.
Billy the Sooth predicts 17°c. No expected precipitation.

Hunters out in force yesterday morning. Quite visibly too. First time in 14 years that I've seen them in action.

Busy shop this morning. Three or four stops.
