I reckon it was originally Napoleonic and fortified by the Germans in WWII (which is why I said CI originally)

Maybe a Greek island?

I think I've seen something similar but not the same, but Channel Islands or Normandy. Doesn't sound right though.

Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park

- the Prince of Wales Bastion.

Well done Mam. Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park - UNESCO World Heritage Centre, St Kitts. Was there in the 80's on a tour on the Caribbean.

The very distinctive skyline of Lancing College north of Shoreham Airport gave away the location as being the latter - I worked at the airport for a few years. The sculpture is the memorial to those who perished as a result of the Hunter crash at an Air Day a few years ago.

OH please if confirmed.
