Good morning, 6°C expecting 9°C, 80% humidity, very dull and overcast; would need lights on indoors to read although sun rose three-quarters of an hour ago apparently.

It would be helpful or at least of interest if the weather forecasters gave the amount of light available outdoors, in lumens or foot-candles or whatever they use, rather than the sunburn-time - or the drying-time for laundry, which today is six hours, they say: I wouldn't bother pegging anything out in this, myself :))

Jim is not the most popular girl in the class today!
It occurred to me that we haven't had a fire drill at church for three years: my policy (wot I rote) states there should be one a year.
Been waiting for a nice sunny day, and today was it. So, fire alarm, 999 (not) dialled, evacuation instructions.
All at assembly point within 1 min 29 secs: (including two with severe mobility problems) told them they should be proud.
All they said was 'Can we have our coffee now?'

Some people you just can't please.

Mrs Hydro was a pre-school teacher, so her clients were at the other end of the age scale. In her room they had 4 teachers, 16 kids from 6 week to 2 years. The drill was, two teachers grabbed the ends of a rope and walked out all the kids who could walk, hanging on to the rope. The kids who were too little to walk were thrown into cots and wheeled out by the other two teachers. The main thing the drills showed up was the stuff that had found its way to somewhere that it blocked exits. For the kids it was just a big game.

A stunning CAVOK day here. Later today I drive to Perth to meet up with former Ops-Normal member OneHungLow who as I speak is passing west abeam York in his trusty PA-28. Dinner in Perth is scheduled for tonight - a non-alcoholic one for me as I will drive home afterwards.

Morning folks. Sunny. Thatching continues. Only a few days more now. Removed the engine from the ship today. It took four men including a mechanic. Major job. A lot to disconnect. I just hope we can get it back on again if the water ever comes back. I don't think that any of the thieving little black bastards could have got it off. They may however have caused a lot of damage trying to. It is now on a stand in the garage.

C16. regards to Mike from both of us.

And from us also. Had a commemorative lunch at Fischer's recently. Thought of the two Mikes there once.

Wish him a safe return flight and tell him he is missed here (at least by me).

Just arrived back from a very pleasant evening in Perth with OneHungLow (Mike) and his co-pilot mate James. Mike doesn't visit the forum nowadays but I told him who had posted their good wishes and he asked me to thank those members. Due to a slight concern with the TAF at Stansted tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon - Prob30 TEMPO 2000 +TSRAGR - they aim for an early start with a planned departure from Perth at 0800 for their VFR flight to Stapleford Tawney with a refuel at Sherburn-in-Elmet and a reassessment of the onward weather. PA-28 G-PJCC if you want to follow their progress.

Morning all. Big job today, recovering Mrs OFSO's paintings which have been on loan to a local restaurant. Will be taking the trailer. A morning job as storms forecast after lunch.

Spent some time pottering in the sun, then photographing a few items that I didn't have suitable photos of, in preparation for a clearing sale, as I've decided to retire from making commissions. I'll still do the occasional job for my own pleasure, and if someone wants to buy it they're welcome. Most of the boxes were returned from a gallery when covid hit.
I'll do a mail-out to my previous customers (those who are still alive) and update my Facebook page and web site. Prices will be flexible, but it should make some space.
