We will put our mits up to it. We used the a/c driving back from town. However we have to run it occasionally to keep it functioning. Driving in it was 22 driving back it was 42. Actually back home it is only high 30s so not too bad. 30 in the house. Cold beer by the pool then pre-lunch scotch. We try to make our weekly scotch ration last all week, it never does.

Artday is cancelled next Thursday.

It is replaced by Opday for Mrs IB. Afternoon operation, hopefully home in evening.

It shows how desperate people from Hartlepool are to get away!

PISSING it down where I am. And windy. And cold. Woodstove lit and central heating on and Mrs OFSO who has a cold is cuddling a heating cushion. Not long to beddy-byes time and getting under a thick duvet.

Cold, dark, raining half the time...but no wind. Skin is waterproof, as those nice drill sergeants used to tell us. I am finishing sheathing my barn walls in preparation for tomorrow's first snowy storm. Been at it since 0230 hrs when the wind dropped, with another couple to go. Much looking forward to a hot shower and a curry afterwards. Woodstove will be lit also, and a bottle of red opened..19 crimes I think.

My wishes to Rev. Jim athough I hope by now he is much better. Paid the water-bill. They charge a fee if paid over the internet by credit card but no charge if one goes to their shop. I did the 4K of the 8K required steps for the day.

Fox I hope the roof is done before the snow-storm. Ex-A how long do you try to obtain the copy of the residence permit?

I'm in to change clothes again - I hate working in wet gear. The roof is sheathed and covered with the new plastic underlay, so it's waterproof for 90 days. I have the first few rows of shingles done to seal the edges. I've just finished sheathing the new 56 foot length of 10 feet high wall . I just have some gaps in the gables to go..it should be OK.

Expected 40C + today with a strong and hot easterly blowing. Firies are on edge as the fire danger rating climbs ever higher. Methinks it’s not going to be a good summer. Wonder where the really big WA conflagration is going to be this year?

I have escaped the rather dismal UK November weather for a week or so to return to Taipei. I had done three, four week trips here and did not wish to do more but was 'asked nicely' (yes, seriously) if I would do another week her to cover for someone away on a trip, and being the warm hearted, generous soul that I am I agreed.
The remuneration will go some way towards paying for the car I have just arranged to buy (there is a bit of a saga about my car purchases but that is another story).

How's this for a simplistic hypothesis? Henceforth to be known as Gob's theorem...

I played around with some back of the envelope numbers and discovered the math solution to Gob’s Theorem (simplified):

Y’know it actually does solve out to Great White! :-B

Throw a couple of bare breasts into it and you’d have Gob’s Law!

A cold wet morning here but looks like clouds drawing off to the east. Doctors and dentists and massage day. Not all at once...

The sergeants were OK, it was the Acting Unpaid Corporals with a power complex, that were the real sods.

Greetings Earthlings.
Partly cloudy and breezy, 6C. Looks like more rain which is not good news as the river is
rapidly coming up again.

Good news with the barn's progress Fox3. It'll be good to have it all watertight before the Winter
starts testing it out.

Good to hear of your progress too Jim. As an aside, the other Reverend James was named after the
Reverend James Buckley, a Methodist Minister and brewer of fine ales.

More good news....... It's FRIDAY

Congratulation Fox3 for completing that part of the project. Enjoy your stay in Taipei Smeagol.

I tested last night a food chopper to make a quick tomato sauce. The taste of the sauce is better but I need to get used to its different consistency.

A prescient comment I made this morning ... part of the Shire has gone up in flames. Houses under threat and fire uncontrollable. Firies on the scene.
