Morning folks. Thursday Town Day. Big mistake. Should have gorn yesterday. Lock down starts tonight for a month. It was mayhem. We purposely got to the Safari Spar 10 mins early already about 10 in the queue by the time it opened about 40, then limiting entry numbers. The Spar is on one corner of the plaza the bank on the other. By the time we left the two queues were touching. We know a rarely used ATM. No queue. Bit of rain.

Good morning from Stalag Luft Handsfree.
Overcast with a low possibility of rain later.

Been and stared death in the face myself by popping in to the Coop.
All fairly quiet and a happy chap controlling numbers in and out. An ideal
job for someone that can count to two. Still no eggs or flour.

Bright, cool and very breezy here. MrsP is setting an example (i.e. trying to make me feel guilty) by doing gardening jobs. 3 tubs of spuds planted yesterday; should be interesting. I'm supposed to be putting seeds in trays, but they'll just blow away before reaching the compost.

Walked up to Angel for weekly shop. Waitrose, time to be allowed in, 30 seconds. No empty shelves, few people. M&S, time to be allowed in, 0 seconds. No empty shelves. Cost, roughly 25% less than back in Catalunia. Walked back, empty roads. Stroked local cat. Coffee and rolls...

Hi folks.

Absolutely chucked it down again this morning. Rivers running down roads when I set out for Iceland.

First in, no restrictions, fully stocked. Then to Lidl for coffee capsuls. Next filled up with fuel around corner and then called in at plant nursery shop for some fresh peas. Farmacia on way home . Total round trip was 90 minutes. Not many people or vehicles about and only one police vehicle seen.

My late sister had severe dementia and this neighbour kept an eye on her when i couldn't,otherwise i wouldn't have known him. He was a great guy a real rough diamond who took no sh1t from anyone and i could just imagine him working lock down to suit himself..

Loganair flight from Barra to Glasgow seems to be behaving oddly. Scheduled to take 1 hour, and apparently taking 3, including trundling around Girvan and Troon for a while. LM456 for those who are curious.

Edit; 3 hours late. Looks like a G/A.

G'day,
Went for a big shop at my normal time. No queues normal stock levels and no Guardia/Police observed.
Same heavy rain started here at around 07.00 just about 1cm in one hour. Dogs went out at 08.00 but were back in under the hour, well wet.
Lot of snow on the hills behind. For a while we were in gloom, wet gloom and *Ibbieville* looked bright and sunny.

Next shop predicted next Wednesday, shops closed for Easter of course, Easter being the big celebration here, not this year I suspect.

Just getting the fire going .............

I have seed trays around the house on window sills, in the shed hardening off, resisting the urge to plant out as it is still rather early, allotment is primed ready for stuff to go in, dug over, weeded and manured, hope to put a couple of rows of earlies in over the next few days.
I have lettuce, cabbage, peas, leeks, cucumber, chard and spicy leaf all ready to go in, just can't hurry it.
We went for a walk up the valley in the woods this afternoon, primroses out, bluebells starting to come up, so spring is just around the corner thank goodness.
Misty is gearing up for the hunting season, beautiful small bird, (chaffinch?) dead by the kitchen door yesterday, large mouse this morning, she is a beast, but spends her time guarding the compost bins most of the day, we had a rat problem a couple of years ago, but she seems to have sorted that out.
Just had a large pie and veg, cod tomorrow, life is very pleasant at the moment.

In our new home we have a much smaller garden. It was given over entirely to lawn. I put in a postage stamp veg plot. Last year it kept us in lettuce and courgettes. I had dug in home made compost and covered it with a trap. Did the same this winter. Still covered but I had a peep. The unpaid workers have got fat turning the compost into soil.

Birds will have a feast when we uncover it.

PN What were you hoping to catch in the trap? Or did you mean a tarp?

This morning I received a letter from Scottish Government advising me to stay indoors for 12 weeks because I'm "at risk" thanks to my COPD. No big deal as I don't go out much anyway. The island's 2 shops will take orders by phone or email, take payment via BACS and will deliver FOC. Hotel bar is shut but they do a takeaway 4 evenings a week, free delivery if requested.
Bitterly cold today with a mixture of bright sunshine, hail, sleet & snow.

Morning folks.

Sun back on the Costa which is most welcome. Was only 10c an hour ago when I took Ed out. No rain is forecast.

Rumour has it that lockdown in Spain to be extended to 26 April.

Grey in London. No cats on doorsteps. Birds all singing. One a/c went over at 08:00, doubtless bringing in another load of poxed individuals to land unchecked at Heathrow.

Posted in "Absent friends" I keep on doing that.

Morning all,
Looks a CdS sort of day, cloudless, snow remains on the hills but I expect not for long.
14c for 17c
My guess says slim chance [35%] of rain on Monday

Dogs away again, been gone 2h14m When all is normal going to have to fence a couple of thousand Sqm for them to play in.
They can't keep wandering off like this.

What to do today ?

Been out dog hunting, Spotted them about 2km away deep in the Campo, came to the whistle, just fed.

Morning.

Cool, grey and a bit windy this morning. Weather much the same.
Arrived at Tesco in time for the start of their 09:00 to 10:00 elderly and disabled shoppers hour; queue for entry was about 100-150 metres long with individuals spaced at their (highly variable) estimate of 2 metres, but it only took about 10 minutes to get in on a one-in one-out basis. Most of the shelves seemed adequately- to well-stocked except for dried yeast for bread baking and for some tinned veg. The limit of 3 for any particular item seemed to be working well.

Home again, everything stacked away and coffee consumed. Now pondering attacking the grass with a rake (powered) to get rid of all the thatch and moss. This could take some time.
Actually doing it will take much longer.
