Fingers crossed that Woody and Mme get off the ground soon. Currently an hour delayed at LHR.
Assume he got on no post to the contrary, in which case he is just passing Tamanrasset eta CPT just 14 min late.2323z

Morning (just) all, clear blue sky, currently 30C, forecast max 32C. 8/15 today.
Went for an early bushwalk with D1 & D2, with a swim in a cool mountain pool at the end.

Morning all. First task of the day: empty kitchen cupboard, reach in and turn on filling loop, top up central heating, turn off FL, replace contents of cupboards. No idea where water is going as no leaks, but going it is.

Actually, that latter was because when I was about half-way through I got distracted by one of the side stories on the page, clicked on that, and had to start again. To my surprise I managed to remember the guesses I had made the first time (right and wrong) and was lucky with all the subsequent ones. :ymblushing:

Morning folks. Warm broken Cu no rain unfortunately. Also just watched the new Royal Documentary. Excellent. The King comes across as a good egg. I think that he has matured with age. It is 30 years since I had frequent contact with him.

Visit to plumber* to discuss repair or replace elderly combi boiler, needing top- up every few days. He proposed a third solution: installing an automatic top-up system, "until we find the leak" ha ha as if we shall be looking for it once it tops itself up. Not particularly cheap but cheaper than a new boiler, and from the speed he proposed it I think it's not the first such installation.

*Plumber looked at previous bills for his work from ten years ago, recollects work necessary in our flat. Hmm. Previous incumbent spent most of her time 'staying' in other flats in the block. She moved out in June 2022. Has only just got around to telling her friends, HMRC and the GPO that she's moved.

For all you fr24 watchers.

Just noticed the Bristol - Enontekio flight is diverting to Kittila? after going round the hold a few times.

Bit foggy.

Had to look it up, EFET has cat1 ils on 21, vor app. 03.

Teas finished, time to get the log gobbler going.

Doesn't look far, but if they put the peeps on a bus, it is a 3 hour drive in good weather.

Seems he is going to Rovaniemi, that's another 1 1/2 hour drive, hope the peeps didn't come for a day to see Santa.

Took Kepler out for a pee this morning, as the sky was starting to get lighter, and while she was doing her business, a skunk came trotting up the road. She barked and tried to lunge at it, but I was already pulling her the other way. It stopped and looked at us, then crossed to the far side of the street and carried on its way.

Re my previous.

What a good decision.

The weather picked up and, after an hour or so on the ground in Rovaniemi, they went back to Enontekio and have just landed.

The sort of interesting, and different, day I still miss after 22 years since retiring.

No lounge access for us mere mortals unfortunately, but we were in Club Suites with plenty of G&T’s :D

Would of been an on time departure, however the pushback tug threw a wobbly and had to be replaced, no waiting for baggage for us and we were having breakfast in the local Mugg and Bean within an hour of the wheels touching the tarmac :-bd

Not yet. She's going in tomorrow afternoon to have stitches removed and we can talk to the vet. She's got to go see an oncologist, and we're inclined to go to UC Davis, which is the gold standard around here, but probably a bit more spendy than other options, depending on what we do. There was supposed to be a follow-on to the lab report to say whether the sample was completely surrounded by good tissue (i.e. managed to get all of it) or not, and that may be part of the decision as to what to do next. Some sort of scan to see if there are any other unexplained masses will probably be in her near future, and the result of that will also be part of the decision process.

The way I see it, if it's already spread elsewhere then just keep her comfortable for as long as possible and let nature take its course. If it looks like we got it and there's no sign of anything else then that's either a do-nothing or a course of chemo to try to keep it that way. If we didn't get it but it hasn't spread then she might be having her tail removed, plus chemo. She's probably got less than a year left, whatever the result.

Morning all, blue dome to welcome the day. 11/15 for the quiz. Today is starting with a drive to the BIL house at the Central Coast about an hour and forty
drive away for the annual get-together of all the inlaws/outlaws, and meet the new baby arrivals, and generally enjoy each other's company. :YMPARTY: :-bd
