Has he returned from whence he came? Not seen him since Alison gave him time out

Didn't realise he had been given time out. Did he upset somebody?

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
For the record, it wasn't I who reported him, my remarks about him were made openly on the forum, always have been and always will be should the situation recur.

I am not sure why people complain about HMRC.
I submitted my (quite simple) tax return early last week via my accountants, who charged me £200 for the privilege of doing it, and got my refund of £219 this morning from HMRC. It'll buy me a couple of beers!

I did not know we had a snowflake here and you PN are or rather were the least possible one.
And a rant: when a public servant is asked to do a task his first reaction is to ask for official documents to be let out of the job until the documents are submitted.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
My tax affairs involve no accountant and me paying them at the end of the year, which means I get about $100 in interest on the money I eventually pay them, so they buy me a couple of two-fours

RiS, early on, if action was required I would get on with it. On chap always said "put it in writing".
I soon learnt to wait. Let them tell me exactly what they wanted, that way it did indeed give me time to get someone else shafted. With a bit of luck they might even forget

I've never reported no one except one particular pure arsehole I won't mention. I believe everyone has a right to put forward their views no matter who's nose gets put out of joint, but it doesn't mean I have to read it. That's why the Ignore list was invented.A snowflake reported him to the moderator for persistent personal attacks that were borderline illegal
The pure arsehole was my first on mine.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
+1 for the Ignore List. I have found its use doesn't necessarily detract from the gist of what is being discussed. Over on another forum I have used it for one poster (the resident troll) who could be the missing one in another guise as they have such a similar style but without the devotion to a particular newspaper chip wrapper.

He seems to have calmed down on TOP as well, perhaps he now realizes there are limits.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Despite being told I have no income tax obligations, I submitted my self-assessment on June 25 and their website shows received, and reply expected by August 9th. Only difficulty is the form has two choices: income from UK and income from foreign sources. My pension is neither. I just declare it as UK income. Don't want to confuse the little darlings.
Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I've always battled with my tax as I have income from several different sources in each of several different countries. In order to take advantage of DTTs, and not fall foul of them, it is important to correctly categorise each type of income and report it into the correct 'box'. Hence paying an accountant to do it.
As for ignore list, I don't use the facility, I can skim my eye over the drivel that KnC spews out very quickly in case there's anything of value there - I should of course know better as there never is! Just his usual sneering and links to the 'newspaper' that I probably wouldn't even use to line my dog's basket with.

Maybe the Gruniad has gone n strike and he doesn’t know what his opinion is anymore
Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Have wondered whether he did not understand the rules, or simply believed they did not apply to him. One of the very few people on top that aggravated me to the point I quit reading anything he posted.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
A worldwide survey was conducted by the UN. The question asked was: "Would you please give your own honest opinion about the food shortage in the rest of the world?" The survey was a huge failure.
In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.
In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.
In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.
In Manchester they interviewed a Guardian reader who didn't know what "own opinion" meant.
In Israel they didn't know what "please" meant.
And in the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.
