I lost interest in F1 about the same time that the then South Australian Government started pissing Mega Taxpayers Dollars up against the wall getting the F1 circus into the Adelaide street circuit. Suddenly, everyone in the Media or Government was an expert in F1 racing. :ymsick:

And then lost the race to Victoria a few years later through pure stupidity. X(

Also, and just my personal opinion FWIW; The current crop of F1 drivers simply do not measure up to those of the glory years of the 60's and 70's.

Agree Cape.

OFSO

If Hamilton was the better driver he would have won the championship.

His "sportsmanship" in the last race shows what a dickhead he is, breaking team rules
to try to get a competitor to win and cost his teammate the championship ???????

Come on.

Most wins, anihilated his opponent in qualifying, let down by team. Default Champion.

As Lewis Hamilton pointed out after the race, “we were fighting for the championship. I was in the lead, I control the pace. That’s the rules.”

Lewis lost the championship midway through the series when he forgot what his day job was and started sashaying around the world playing the big celebrity in between races. Suddenly he was losing and by the time he got his mind focused again it was too late. The best man won this year. Lewis will win again next year if he puts his mind to it..

Well, you are one of the few.

Even his team Mercedes are considering disciplinary action for trying to get Rosberg to lose the title.

And numerous others have said he had bad sportsmanship.

Whilst I don't much care for Hamilton, he's just a pawn in a big dirty business. F1 used to be about men and cars. Now it's about spoilt brash brats in electronic toys controlled by businessmen and computers.

If Mercedes are remotely serious about this they will fire him for blatantly disobeying a series of team instructions.

Who thinks they will?

And Hamilton lost it by not being able to start quickly enough for a series of races. Him? The car? Does it matter?

I'm glad he didn't win and even better that his team mate won.

I disagree, but being a Lewis fan I'm bound too.

How can you reward bad sportsmanship - and more than once.

He is not a team player either.

I don't think anybody did, what a very strange decision.

Edit:

I wonder if Mercedes management knew ?

Whilst there is far too much technology I disagree entirely with the end of your quote. The workload is immense for todays drivers even if computers are a big part of the system - Crap in any computer equals crap out. Changing engine settings, tyre management, conserving fuel, break bias, temps etc many times a lap and still get the car round the track at a pretty good speed means not just any brave fool can do it. These guys are no mugs and most still had to win in Kart racing and other less technical Formulas on the way up. The late (and not so Late) Greats even though they were immense talents they only had to keep the car on the black stuff, they just didn't have the same workload. Plus they were not driving 20 plus Grand Prix a year.

Yeah, wasn't Rosberg helpful in his timing ? All the good drivers have signed their contracts for 2017 - some for 2018 as well so are unavailable - in fact Rosberg signed a two year contract in July 2016, which goes to show how much worth such a piece of paper has when the driver decides to walk off the job.

So Tito the Wolf has gracefully accepted Rosberg's departure (and I bet he took a couple of mm of enamel off his molars controlling his temper) and now has to dip into the bottom of the bucket to find someone without a drive for next year. Or pay the odd million or two to secure a driver already signed-up.

To my mind, nothing has confirmed my opinion of Rosberg's attitude to the sport more than his manner of leaving it.

Races and champioships are won or lost because of electronic managements systems or 'team' (i.e commercial) decisions. It's no longer a man vs. man sport.

I admire Rosberg for resigning while he's on top. He knows he'll never have to share a podium with Loathsome Lewis, and he'll never have to take team orders again.
