It was definitely the negative personality on display the day of her Scampton visit. Nothing seemed to please her.

Probably reacted to the vibes of resentment from renta crowd whose existence had been interrupted. In fact knowing how it worked then, you had probably suffered several back to back VIP events like AOCs etc.

If one reads some of the literature, scuttlebutt etc. of the time, she was not a particularly nice person at any time!

In normal life, as you get older and gain experience, you get promoted. As Spare to the Heir, she had already been relegated to number 3 and kicked further down the tree after Andrew and Edward. Then to 7th after PC started and a further two after Andrew got in on the act.

Now look at Harry, he started at #3, now he is down to #7 as well with Archie at #8.

PN, True. There had been BS aplenty in the lead up to the day (but no different to any Royal visit). It turned out that I was fortunate not to be voluntold for the pre-lunch orange juice in the Sgt's Mess. My colleagues who attended, said she had a face on her like a slapped a**e, she was disinterested in the hangar displays and was not impressed by the 4-ship scramble (I heard more about that later from one of the aircraft captains during a station exercise). The picture of the way the day was going came when OC Supply came back to the sqn during our lunch break - he was fuming! He was a genuine nice guy - a former Valletta and Comet pilot - and normally, very little phased him. This was different. It wasn't only her display of bad manners that had pee'd him off, but the fact that he had to pay for the pleasure of not eating the meal that had gone straight in the bin.

Several years later when I was stationed at Marham, it was well known that she was the only Royal who never acknowledged the gate guards as they passed through on their way to/from Sandringham, but woe betide anyone who didn't pay her full compliments.

I think she was only ever happy when she was on Mustique and she could party to her heart's content.

Can we add Wee Krankie to the list after yesterday's performance?

She oozed more sebum than any amount of lanolin could possibly counter.

I do not wish to be confronted with any thought of any other excrescenses from the slimy ****q.

It's a bit like Al Fayed versus the Hamiltons - the ideal solution would be if both sides lost.

You remind me of a TV producer we met in the bar at the Strathspey? Hotel in Aviemore. After shaking hands we had to wipe the lanolin off lest we drop our glasses.
