Aldermaston, I'd have thought - played cricket at the AWRE once as a stripling

Harwell's Oxfordshire, I think

I’m away for a few days, so I’ll reveal the Round Oak, Padworth Common, which is an ex-pub ~X(

O/H is the order of the day.

A bit of a lull. No airfields for some time. A few clues here, some may recognise it.

Weston-On-The-Green. Flew in there once donkeys years ago when they weren't parachuting. No idea why!

You have it C16. I think that I probably have more take offs and landings there than any other airfield/airport in the world. With the BN2T we could do 4 drops an hour from 12,000. The balloon pan can be seen by the hangar. It was and probably still is the largest DZ in the country and they still managed to miss it. Pig farm top left. If they landed off the DZ a rescue vehicle had to go out to check that they were OK and bring them back. Except if they had landed in the pig farm, then they had to walk. :-o

C16's drop.

That be Hethel in Norfolk. The home of Lotus cars.

Yes, 'tis Hethel. I think I've mentioned before on here that not long after "The Spy Who Love Me" Bond film was released I had the opportunity to drive one of the two Esprit road cars used in the film round the Hethel test track. Great fun!

All yours Smeagol!

Thank you C16, I have had that view of Hethel as I had a flight in a Pitts a few years ago ( a birthday present) and we performed aeros directly over head Hethel.

No more airfields, airports or even aerodromes. Just a street. But it is quite a famous one.
