As long as you include sooties, riggers, plumbers, stackers, shinies, rag packers, snoops, gro-bags and other assorted groups then it's equality innit?
Some are obvious, others not so.
Any help appreciated.

That's what happens when people miss out on the important bits of "walking" in a group in uniform. Note: no reference to marching. You will just have to get yourself as pace stick PN.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 8:33 amWhat's a pace? Can we define 50 paces? Is it 50 manly strides or 50 mincing steps?

Re: What's a pace??.....
.....according to AP818 Manual of Drill (What do you mean you haven't got yours still??) a pace in quick and slow time is 30 inches (No! I can't be arsed to do it in metric!!) From the horses mouth that is.

Yeah, I’m quite happy with that
When all else fails, read the instructions.

When my employer decided to convert to metric, the engineering drawings - which had been dimensioned in fractions of an inch were converted to three places of decimals.

None of my credit or debit cards, not UK ones, have worked on the internet with French retailers (SNCF, Zen) for the past fortnight, "refused by the bank". They work with amazon and uniglow and eurostar and they work with counter transactions, shops, ATMs and the Spanish RENFE. No idea what's going on.
Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Is that due to the roll out of "Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements" - newish EU requirement for online card transactions?

No idea. Lux card worked with French Zen parking and LeRoy Merlin today but refused by SNCF and sun awning firm. Seems random.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Left hand oven door hinge came away from the Smeg last night. Smeg repair man is no longer a Smeg repair man, but he looked on the computer. There are 19 different hinges available. No model number anywhere on my oven. Drove home to my sick oven, pulled and twisted and moved things, after an hour hinge clicked back in place. No idea why until I looked at video on YouTube. Hinge not broken, just came unhinged. Hence the name.

I followed a link to 8NewsNow in Las Vegas and the following came up. Seems they have to catch up with the fact that the UK is no longer a member of the European Economic Area.

Not sure what that item is all about, C16, but the UK is still part of Europe geographically.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Mrs OFSOs UK medical practice has told her that according to their records she was vaccinated once, in January in the UK, and the record can't be changed. So there! Reality is that she was not in the UK in January, and had both vaccinations in Spain in June. But the Elizabeth Avenue Practice ignores reality.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
My water utility sent me an urgent message that their linked system reports a continuous water leak on my property for the past three days. Rushed home, meter (installed upside down, for this is Spain) is stationary. Checked piping, correct function of meter. So I want to ask them WTF? No e-mail to contact utility, went to their website, I've never had a user name or password, so can't enter website. Entered name of my community, website says not known. Same with postcode. Have written a letter on actual paper. Will thrust under office door.
Re: Rant of the Day v2.
BMW X3 with 2.0L Turbo gave an ECAM for 'low oil pressure' followed shortly after by a 'drivetrain malfunction' and subsequently went into 'limp mode'.
Fortunately, I was less than a mile from home and only a mile from the shop when it opens tomorrow morning. I'm guessing that with the engine showing 'oil level OK' it is the oil pump.
being a BMW it will require near full engine removal to access it.
I can already feel my credit card puckering.
