Weekly Shop Day.
Just returned from same. I have never ever spent over sixty dollars on a normal weekly shop. Today $116. The idiot govt. keep telling us cost of living has only increased by a few percent. With the amount of money spent propping up businesses during Covid it's going to get worse, much worse.

Lunch at the Irish pub and then hibernate as we have a storm coming through. Forecast is wind, rain, thunderstorms and a chance of tornadoes. Deep joy.

Fangfettler this morning for a filling. Do you have any pain?,says he. No, says I, didn't even know I needed a filling until you found out. Good, says he, that means you won't need any anaesthetic. Oh!,says I. He drills away and quickly does the job and then finds he has got a clamp stuck to my tooth with some tooth glue. Be a shame to have to give you anaesthetic to get that off, says he. I'll try without. Brings tears to my eyes but is successful. Sorry, says he.Bollox, thinks I.
Went into town so Mrs 1DC can get some money and I can get some haddock, another Friday nearly over.

Crossing the river on the big bridge to Hull so Mrs 1DC can take her watch in for a service, maybe buy herself a winter coat. I will then be given the opportunity to buy number one daughter lunch somewhere!
At least it is a sunny Friday on the Humber.
Nice, I was in boarding school in Grimsby when the bridge was built, and had left before completion, therefore I have never driven on it---only ever took the ferry.

I slept through my alarm this morning after being disturbed around 5:30 by one of the dogs. Fortunately I woke up about five minutes after the alarm. Hopefully the rest of Friday will be better. Weekend activities entail a good tidy up and clear out, after spending a fair bit of time yesterday looking for some stuff. I eventually found one of the items and then remember I'd shipped the other one out in early December. Oops.

It is a nice bridge g~man, for a couple of years it was the longest suspension bridge in the world until the Japanese built a longer one to Hokkaido. It was the first time I had been to Hull since this lockdown business started and the basta$ds fined me £30 for driving 40 yards in a bus lane. After I have been and retrieved the watch I won't go any more. The ferry ended when the bridge commissioned.
I assume your school was either St. Martins or St. James. They are both still there and St. Martins was voted best prep. school in the UK two or three years ago even though Grimsby is regularly voted into one of the bottom three spots of worst town to live in,in England!

Yep, I went to St. James from 1974 thru 1980, my sister was there thru 1984 I think. I actually went back for a visit back in 2018 as one of the Housemasters died. I was also a chorister at St. James Church for a year---these days I burst into flames if I get within a mile of a church.... B-) B-)

Anyways back to the weekend.... Saturday will be spent planning a sailing trip, and Sunday I have to fly a helicopter to Southern California for maintenance.

Flat, like an exam paper that you can turn over at the tick of a clock! You have stopped my mind from simply snapping with alarm! ;)))

On the plus side, of course, we get to enjoy Friday long after some people are stuck with Saturday.

Ah, you are a man who sees the whole of the doughnut, while some others just see the hole! ;)))

Early Friday morning here, and I am contemplating the gym and whether it is even worth trying to attempt to sleep before 06:00 hrs.

If it is Friday then is time for the Rock Professor's Podcast coming all the way from down south (Africa of course)...

Professionally Friday can be a risky day but I hope it will turn out to be an ordinary day. Main mission of the day is to do the food shopping for my parents - RiS Senior is instructed not to visit large food-stores and at the same trip to purchase a product to unblock the kitchen sink.

Indeed it's Friday, HF. Not all that ominous. Mrs OFSO and our neighbours are off up into the mountains to visit an isolated farmhouse where an Englishman has set up a cheese-making business. He's been there some years and the product is excellent.

Blessed are the cheesemakers... ;)))

ibuprofened up. My shoulder merely a twinge in my mind's eye, I am off to the gym. I may be some time.

Friday morning coming down.
