Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Should be renamed the WiWi or the Virus fruit. I don't like them much anyway but from now on I'll make a point of not eating them.
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
I doubt that any Kiwifruit on sale in the UK will come from China.
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
We knew them as Chinese Gooseberries 50 years ago.
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
They're always either too ripe or not ripe enough. Difficult barstewards to externally assess. But ... they're fibre and fruit and better for you than chocolate, unfortunately.
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Like avocados (which I do).

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
When you eat a kiwi fruit do you peel it or not? I just eat it,Mrs 1DC says it should be peeled.
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
I don't eat the 'skin' - but I don't eat orange peel or banana peel either.
I do, however eat apple skin.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Cut it in half and spoon it out.
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Eating the skin's fine, it tastes better than it looks.

Ian, I think that you are in the chair.

The highest mountain in southern Africa and the highest mountain on mainland Spain are the same height (give or take 3 metre.)
Name the mountains and their altitude.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Møllehøj is the highest natural point in Denmark at 170.86 m (561 ft).
Yding Skovhøj is 172.54 m (566 ft) above sea level when the height of one of the Bronze Age burial mounds built on the top of the hill is included. If these man-made structures are ignored the hill's highest point is at 170.77 m (560.27 ft), which is 9 cm lower than Denmark's highest natural point Møllehøj.
Ejer Bavnehøj is Denmark's third highest natural point at 170.35 m (558.89 ft).
Himmelbjerget ("The Sky Mountain" or "The Mountain of Heaven") with a height of 147 m (482 ft) was believed to be the highest natural point in Denmark until 1847.
Himmelbjerget is much more impressive than Møllehøj: There is a height difference of 121 m from lake Julsø below to the top of the hill, which is remarkable by Danish standards.
The Eiffel Tower is 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall.

It was simply to prove that what one country considers to be impressive can be insignificant when judged by other standards.Capetonian wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 12:00 pmWell, yes, interesting stuff but I am not sure how it relates to the question.
