Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Afternoon folks, bit hazy but 38C. Just been to the safari camp for a few beers. Some OK S.A.s there. One had piddling little inflatable he puts on the top of his car. I said that it would be one mouthful for a hippo. Nah he said, at the sound of an engine they go away. ***** I said. We have had multiple attacks where engines were running. Oh well.
New puppy at the camp which is supposed to kill snakes. Most of the time we were there he was asleep. Name of 'Toffee'

G'day,
same as yesterday 26c 55% guess is for 27c.
The seaweed sooth-sayers are going for 100% rain mañana.
No they are not they changed it 85% tomorrow and 90% Tuesday.
Has been a standard Sunday. SM fell over Henry yesterday and is is a fair bit of pain.
Port wrist is quite swollen but she will not go to hospital for a ray of xxxs.
She has left out 15€ so it seems I have bought something.

Aah, tell them to buy a mongoose (Cape Grey preferred) to kill the snakes, and to buy little 'Toffee' a cushion to lie on near the bar! He is worth far more as marketing material, my better half has already said we should visit where he is!Ex-Ascot wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 1:46 pmAfternoon folks, bit hazy but 38C. Just had to bury my third frog in 10 days
All of them smack in the middle of the lawn
I've lived here in Kingston upon Thames for about 30 years and have seen 5 maximum in the garden during that period
Now 3 stiffs - is there a serial anuracide on the loose?

Good word!
We have Mr Ribbit who lives in crack in the concrete around the drain. I am no longer allowed to use caustic chemicals to clean the sink least our visitor is harmed.

I would guess it's a cat that is catching them but not eating them.

My dear Boadicea, Viv and Dusty have all gone through the great cat-flap in the sky, but these appear uninjured/untoyed withFox3WheresMyBanana wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 6:06 pmI would guess it's a cat that is catching them but not eating them.

I had toyed with the idea of adding "Arrooo!" to my post but thought better of itTheGreenAnger wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 9:03 pmI trust you are not howling Karearea. I often do, just like WOLF MAN JACK...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Afternoon all, good weekend at the dog show here. Toasty weather each afternoon, but this morning started under a blanket of fog and was at a good temperature until it burned off. Faraday got a Best of Opposite and a couple of Select ribbons, Kepler (only showing two days) got a Best of Opposite and a Best of Breed, and then got an owner-handled group 3 placement. The two puppies swapped places in the 4-6mo from Saturday to Sunday, and today's winner got a puppy group 2 placement, which was also satisfying. Of the six Leos competing in today's competitions, five were bred from one of our dogs.
To add to the fun, both Faraday and Kepler went into heat yesterday, so the breeding clock has started for Kepler. Nice that she signed off with a win and the group placement.

Congratulations to you and your dogs.
Are the puppies from the recent litter that we watched grow?

Morning, all. Mild and dry up here on the Frontier. Observation from my nightly walks is that many French have stayed on here after the holiday season ended. More houses with a French car parked in driveway than local plates.

Morning folks. Clear skies should make high 30s again. Mammoth watering. Don't think that we would be very popular with the hosepipe ban brigade.
S.A. chap with his little bath boat has been past each way today so obviously not chomped by a hippo yet.

Good Moaning,
The seaweed sooth-sayers are giving 80% chance.
A shower approaches whether it hits who knows?
Currently 23c 74% guess is 25c
Against advice SM hangeth el washing out. Is bedding day.
Pedicure this afternoon.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Morning all,
Partly cloudy but dry day today forecast here, max temperature of 15C.
A batch of 3x 800gm loaves on second proving in the oven, shortly to be baked for 35 minutes or so to provide us with toast for the next 2 to 3 weeks. Not exactly an emergency operation, but we ate the last of the previous batch for breakfast this morning.
Excitement of the day will be provided by a trip over to son's house for tea this afternoon as it's his birthday today. Also to deliver his card and present which he was given last week and forgot to take with him.
Also another chance to play with grandson. Last week he arrived in his parents bedroom holding a piece of toilet paper...which, unfortunately, was still attached to the toilet roll in the bathroom. Pleased with the reaction of his parents he then turned round and round a few times effectively wrapping himself up like a mummy.
We're thinking of changing his name to Andrex.

Postcard From Greece in the weekend's FT is worth reading with even Amorgos getting a mention of being serviced by the Small Cyclades Lines.
