I received this, supposedly from LinkedIn. What makes me assume it's some kind of scam is that first I deleted my Linked in account in 2008, and second, that it was never associated to the email address to which the email was sent. Other than that it looks genuine. If I do a search I can't even find myself on LinkedIn although I think you need an account to search properly.

Quite how the scam would work I don't know.

If it's a scam then chances are it's not the real website and they're after your login credentials. I have an email address I only use on LinkedIn so anything mentioning it that comes into another email address I will happily ignore.

Just got a Bitcoin email. Here is the Sender: Bitcoin Code Member [your-Bitcoin@email.tfl.gov.uk]

Now as it is from Sadiq Khan it must be genuine.

Pontius; I have been copping quite a few Bitcoin scam e-mails lately. Probably about 15 in the last few days. X(

Have reported them all as phishing and blocked the address but they still keep coming. Every one from a different address. ~X(

I'll keep reporting and blocking! [-X Eventually they will get the hint.

My Outlook seems to work well with minimal effort. Drag from In to Junk and it seems to recognise them thereafter.

Had a phone call this week trying to extend the insurance on my Sky TV equipment.

Interesting since I do not currently have, nor ever had Sky TV. Told them, slightly rudely, to "F**k Off".

Mrs PN Got one today, it is usually me that gets them:

The email header is to Dear Csutomer,

Please Update Your Payment Method
Dear Customer ,

Sorry for the interruption, but we are having trouble authorizing your Payment Method.
Please visit the account payment page below to enter your payment information again or to use a different payment method.
When you have finished, we will try to verify your account again.
If it still does not work, you will want to contact your credit card company.
To protect the informations of our customers, our system has temporarily placed restrictions on your account until your informations has been validated against our system.
You can validate your informations by clicking on the link below, this will only take a few minutes and your account functions will be fully restored.
Verify Your Account

amazon Inc. : amazon Corporate Headquarters 100 Winchester Circle Los Gatos, CA 95032.
You can un-subscribe to security alerts by configuring your online account.
We are sending this email to provide support for your personal online Netflix account.

Apart from the spelling errors, capitalisation in Amazon, why would Amazon be relevant to a personal online Netflix account. The graphics tend to suggest it is a PayPal problem.

Then the link is immediately barred by Microsoft. I think the would be spammer has been spammed by better spammers who have sold him a bum spam toolbox.

Mrs OFSO just had a call from "HMRC" stating that a code four had been appended to her account and she should press...etc etc... none of which she did.

Originating number was 0044 2031018663 which Google tells me is the source of automated phone calls supposedly coming from HMRC, SKY and the like.

Cape, we are missing you so much !

I have just bought items from Aliexpress and a couple of days earlier from CAFAGO. This morning I got an invoice from Armormetal.com. It was feasible.

The invoice was in a Zipped PDF. The Zip was actually an executable which was assessed as high threat and detected by my AV.

Coincidence?

Just lifted this Bitcoin scam from another website :

After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent. What's made us successful is jumping into new opportunities quickly - without any hesitation. And right now, our number one money-maker is a new cryptocurrency auto-trading program called Bitcoin Digital. It's the single biggest opportunity we've seen in our entire lifetimes to build a small fortune fast. We urge everyone to check this out before the banks shut it down."

I thought marrying a Ginge was a bigger opportunity.

A worrying call from the HMRC office in Liverpool (Liverpool?) to inform me that a fraud case has been lodged against me. Liverpool? Surely not....
