Our lurchers were "very bad dogs!" ;)))

As you shouted "stay" they would accelerate, usually in pursuit of deer. We dearly loved them, and now miss both of them dearly too. :(
That's the thing, isn't it: all their wickedness and goofiness becomes endearing.
...And though with sadder, still with kinder eyes,
We shall behold all frailties, we shall haste
To pardon, and with mellowing minds to bless. ...

Good Morning All,

Full overcast, no precipitation.
14c -> 20c.

We are booked for a private cremation at 13.00. It's a bit of a trek almost *Ibbie's* back yard.

For a country where burial is illegal there are few facilities for pets. Overwhelmed with human facilities.
They don't care about pets.

Interestingly a new law prohibits multiple "Pets". I find this astonishing.

"
Cases not allowed

In this way, the General Directorate for Animal Rights (a body of the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda) elaborated on the new Welfare Law on the negative list of species.

It includes rabbits , but also rodents such as hamsters , guinea pigs , mice and chinchillas .

are also not allowed . Hedgehogs , which are considered potentially dangerous to other indigenous animals,

With the new norm, it will no longer be possible to emulate George Clooney (or this neighbor from the Barqueta area of Seville as a pet ) and have a Vietnamese pig . In case of abandoning them -their care is not exactly easy- they could cause an overpopulation if they mixed with wild boars.

Spiders are another species that is prohibited due to health issues towards people.

The presence of reptiles in the domestic environment has now also been reviewed: it is not possible to have turtles at home (vulnerability -sometimes endangered- typical of some species and their strength when looking for food prevails, in case of shock with native species) or chameleons , iguanas , snakes , lizards or geckos .

of the land are excluded from the list of allowed pets Finally, non-native birds , such as parrots , lovebirds and even parakeets . "

Google Translation.

Thank you all for your wishes about Punto. It's a bad time and your condolences do help.

Henry is completely lost without his life pal. Henry came to us at eight weeks and has has known no other dog since.

Extraordinary, and I'm sure the law will be ignored and go unenforced like every other unpopular law in Spain. There was a pet cemetery here, not sure if it's still there. We still have ladies of joy standing on the sides of the main roads, wearing very little and shaking their buttocks enticingly at passing cars.

Good morning folks. Sorry Wodders.

Late on parade also Internet and Orange down. Many power cuts apparently. Internet mast has a three day back up but with so many cuts the battery ran down. As well as the usual cuts we now have load shedding again. Glad we never got connected.

The lawns have been cut, painfully slowly. He really didn't want to do them. You could hear the cogs going for an excuse. The mouth was open when ordered but nothing came out.

Any recommendations for travel insurance? Our health insurance brokers used to sort it out but they will not now. Only really bothered about cancelling and getting dosh back. Also delays and missing following flights/ships. Not bothered about health cover (covered) or lost luggage (hand luggage only).

I read that South Africa Eskom has run out of cash to pay for diesel.

Will that affect you Ex-A?

I nominate Henry for title of Senior Dog. :O3
His training under Punto should be passed along to another generation.
A new Dog in Training would help you as well.

Condolences Wodders - tis small comfort that Punto's suffering is over.

Got me 'puter back and it's working. :-bd

BBC Radio Lincolnshire traffic news reporting a bit of flooding in PN's bailiwick - probably an overflowing pothole.

One has just looked at the Dawlish Beach webcam - seems like there's more ships in Torbay than were at the Normandy beaches in 1944. Either there's an invasion going on or the weather is going to be "a bit unsettled".
