Drag & drop! Youre supposed to be the technically savvy one round these parts
Re: Photos of Everybody
Thanks Sise. Probably forgot to switch my thinking machine on this morning. It was early my time.

Re: Photos of Everybody
Here's a pic of Larss at about 3 years of age getting pre-flight briefing in what Eric Winkle-Brown described as'the best aircraft he had ever flown'.
Re: Photos of Everybody
Idly wandering about websites, found this photo taken in September 1969 at RAF Biggin Hill, aircraft in the background is the metrological flight Hastings I think.
I am the one on the end left looking at the photo. K&C may remember the others.

Yours truly, day one of the fire in Paradise, California on Nov 8th 2018, awaiting dispatch with my "steed" behind me.
Life may not be the party you hoped for, but while you're here, you may as well dance.
Re: Photos of Everybody
Ian when did they change from forage caps to berets? I accepted the Queens shilling in 1960, and we were never issued with the cap you are wearing in the photo, only berets and flat 'ats.

Almost immediately after the picture was taken!
The 16th Entry were issued with beret's, but the side hat was still around, so of course we had to have them didn't we?
For Boys, they needed a full length of chequered band, like the SD hat.

I do, however, remember the event very well and, with hindsight, it was possibly not a good idea on the part of "management " to "volunteer " a collection of destitute apprentices to sell programmes....thus I can neither confirm or deny the "Shoulder of Mutton and / or " The Two Brewers " may have become the unwitting beneficiaries of the organisers inability to ensure adequate change was provided for members of the public making purchases from us.
It was also pretty damn hot !
Re: Photos of Everybody
After much head scratching I think, going from left to right, me, Steve (?), Pete Daniels, Pete Hanwel, Dave Hebron.
Yes the management of the programme selling wasn't very bright, to just give out large bundles of programmes to apprentices to sell and then accept the money back with no accountability was rather trusting.

On a par with the management at another branch of the flying club where a couple of chaps decided it would be a profitable enterprise to sell raffle tickets for a new car during the station's At Home day - there was indeed a new car as a prize, but that was for the official raffle. RAF plod's finest probably still have the file open as "undetected".
