Yes,......Scallops steamed with glass noodles....ginger plays a part!..

Whole fish steamed Cantonese style .... again Cheung Chau Island....

Scallops, Whole Cantonese steamed fish, lemon chicken and steamed vegetables...a heap of beer....in Oz it would cost a fortune!

Sucking back Carlsberg beers at 10:00am with the guy that once owned this beauty the 'Dukling', in (the unmistakable) Victoria Harbour....a few years back now...we must have sunk 12 beers each by the tme we got to Aberdeen, and he wanted to keep going!... :/ ....I didn't have the $ for it so had to feign Sons illness to make a break, but a fabulous morning!!

Is the Dukling deep sea going? I remember there was a junk that used to sail around the world. I went down to the Royal Cape Yacht Club in Cape Town to see it.

This one started to bug me as I couldn't remember which yacht or junk it was, and thus traced, via the tinterweb, and rang the bloke, who had invited me out to sail with him the day we saw "the junk". I haven't spoken to him for over 30 years. He was initially taken aback, but then said that he wasn't surprised "you haven't changed a bit" he said laughing at my nerdish persistence, but, anyway we ended up chatting for over an hour. He believes it was Blondie Hasler's Jester (owned by somebody else by then) that we saw. Not a real junk but a famous yacht nonetheless. I see, sadly, that she went to Davey Jones's locker some time back now. << Or perhaps not. Jester could have been China Blue, or any one of a number of clones... I am won't be able to sleep now..>>

Yours truly and the late Mrs R in medieval costume designed & made by Mrs R. Photo taken in the early 1980s when we were members of the Scarborough branch of the Richard III Society, on our way to a medieval banquet in the Merchant Venturers' Hall, York organised by the York branch of the Society.
Costumes were created by Mrs R who scoured charity shops for miles around, seeking old curtains, fur and fabric of any sort suitable for the purpose; her hats were based upon metal coat hangers. I found those medieval cloaks to be quite warm, even in a North Yorkshire winter.

Should you both have been transported back to the fourteen hundreds,you would of had no problems of actually being taken for nobility in those costumes.

And in more conventional clothing in Scarborough, early 1980s
