One is thinking about having an official birthday as well as the standard one. Someone else does this so why shouldn't I?

My thanks to all the above posters!
I did indeed partake of a glass or three of a good Red and then committed the Sin of having a glass or two of a good Pinot Noir Bubbly.
You can generally switch from drinking White wine to Red but as a rule you should never do the reverse as it can result in
However I do know my limits, and escaped the possible consequences.
Tonight I shall be having some quiet belated celebrations with a Lamb roast and a repetition of the above mentioned drinks.
Fact is; I think I will go and pour myself a glass of Shiraz right now! 'Scuse I.

As the Germans say "Wein auf Bier dass 'rad ich dir, Bier auf Wein lass dass sein." Or, in English, wine after beer is recommended but beer after wine should be left alone. Goes with white and red wines as well, when you think about it.
