Re: Birthdays
Thank you all for your kind wishes. To clarify, mine was 26MAY , Woody's apparently today, so best wishes to him.
I'm stuck in NL waiting for a delayed flight, no doubt thanks to the accursed swine at frog ATC.

Oops, very late to the Woody and Cape's birthday party. As they are both honorary Saffers, I post this for them...

Thank you for the good wishes. Going sailing up the river for a pub lunch and then probably drift back downstream afterwards.

Re: Birthdays
Forecast wind did not materialize so abandoned attempt to sail the 2 miles upstream to pub as planned after it had taken half an hour to get 250 yards upstream. Fortunately there is a pub right next to the sailing club so we had lunch there instead.

Re: Birthdays
Thank you very much, folks, much appreciated.
No mention has been made of this fact in the GG household so far this morning, I think she's forgotten. No matter.
I would point out that it is also National Leon Day (that's Noel spelt backwards) - exactly half way between one Christmas Day and the next. The traditional day on which 'crafters' start warming up their glue guns and designing their ugly sweaters in time for next Christmas.
Since the nights also started getting longer and the days shorter three days ago it's all downhill from here.
I think I'll go back to bed.

Re: Birthdays
Happy Birthday GG.
Is it also National Leonardo Day?
Good idea to go back to bed, then get up and start the day again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY , GrumpyOldFart! One Hundred Not Out, a creditable score that I also aim for ( 21 years to go, in my case).
