Thanks to you all!
Celebrated by conducting a cremation service for a 95-year-old. Unfortunately the daughter would not allow 'happy birthday to Jim' to be sung in the service. My son, with his usual immaculate good taste, told me to be satisfied that they had laid on a special Barbie for me...

Anyway, out to consume a bit of cow this evening. Two other good things: Mrs Jim is driving, so that I can have a beer; and Mrs Jim is paying.
Can't get much better than that.

Thanks Caco. Much appreciated.

Thanks to the amazing US airline hiring wave, I have moved on from the regionals to bigger and better things. The timing so far careerwise has been great and I have been very lucky.

Glad to see you are back. I knew you would be. That is usually the progression. 1. Soy boy throws a fit. 2. Said soy boy goes to yoga class . 3. Goes thru some tough vinyassa flows to clear his mind, 4 Stops by the organic coffee store to order an over priced soy latte to go. 5. Comes home , turns on some easy listening such as Sade or Janis Joplin. 6. Turns on the hot water in the bathtub and adds organic shampoo to enjoy a chemical free relaxing bathing experience. 7. Takes out his favorite loofah made from recycled landfill materials to exfoliate the skin from the gruesome yoga workout. 8. Takes a nap in his favorite pajamas afterwards. 9. Comes to his senses. 10. Logs back on to Ops Normal. Welcome back
😀

TS today has turned fifty four
Which isn't really a bad nifty score.
The party and booze will ring out tonight
And may give the hippos a bit of a fright.

Champagne cruising along on the lake
In the Squiff Puss with a birthday cake.
The candles are lit, the wishes all made
But crocs may attempt a cake sort of raid.

We'll hear the gun blasts up here in the Gulf
And probably smell the gunpowder sulph.
As Ex-A protects his mid-fiftied bride
And makes her nice shoes from all that croc hide.

Happy birthday TS! :)

Some last verses I wanted to add but the posting thingy won't let me!

When the Squiff Puss arrives back at berth
TS will ponder her life here on earth.
Then drift off to sleep and dream of nice things
Like flowers and daisies and princes and kings.

Next morning she'll wake all fresh and renewed
While Ex-A makes posts (some funny some lewd?)
Then TS will hear the loud morning scream
"Someone turn off that damn washing machine!"

So now that she's entered her fifty fifth year
Certain strange things won't seem so queer.
Except later next year there'll come a great crash
With a knock on the door..."Hi there I'm Slash!"

Happy birthday (again) TS! :)
