Apologies, only just found all your kind words, obviously spent the weekend enjoying French hospitality bars, everything was excellent until the Gendarmerie got involved, our group actually missed the widely reported chaos, mainly because the signage and information around the Stade de France was so poor, we approached the ground from completely the wrong direction and got into the stadium with relatively few problems

I'm not a great one for celebrating birthdays, it seems to be a rather over-rated pastime once you're past your early teens, so the overheard comment from son to wife the other day of 'well, I'm 50 next year and dad's 80' did not exactly fill me with with joy and anticipation.
