Harmony of the Seas
I see the worlds largest (and most garish, brash, and utterly tasteless) cruise ship appears to be vanishing up its own stern this afternoon. Anyone know what's happening ? Rudders jammed hard a-port, maybe ?

Re: Harmony of the Seas
Isn't it due on Southampton in a few days or something?
Looking at photos I must say that this is one ugly-assed ship. Then again, I'd never go on a cruise ship period.

Some friends recently went on one of the sister ships-Anthem I think it was. They said that it was over the top. They had an ice rink and even a merry-go-round. What happened to just sitting quietly, enjoying the view, or reading. Have people become so moronic that they have to be constantly entertained?

Sitting quietly enjoying the view or reading? Considered "boring' nowadays. As for your last question: you already know the answer to it so I won't answer in the affirmative.

Nothing better than being bush, sitting with a cold beer or drink, watching the natural world go by,
all sounds natural.
Yep, boring to some but loved by many.
Here are 3 photos within a couple of kms of the backyard.
Can't get this on a boat !

Talking of large, garish, and brash, I took this photo from the balcony of a friend's place in Lisbon ...........
It's an Italian ship, MS Musica I think. Horrendous.

Re: Harmony of the Seas
See that they have an 'adults only' spar. Would this be: 'Harmony on the Seas'?
'Yes, Madam, I am drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.' Sir Winston Churchill.
Re: Harmony of the Seas
Actually there is a conspiracy afoot. All of the world's cruise ships are going to fill themselves to the gunwales with the kinds of people who go on cruises, then when full they will sail off into the sunset and be scuttled mid-ocean.

Nice photos of the homestead, 500N. You're a fortunate man.

Yes, that (and the heat /humidity in December) are the only bad things about it.
But they are survivable, just
But I tell you, sitting on the edge of the flood plain, watching the Buffalo, Geese (in their thousands)
and other birds / animals (dingoes) etc go about their business is just something else.

Re: Harmony of the Seas
Just do not get the cruise ship concept except for aged invalids perhaps.
If I did a cruise it would be on a tramp freighter with two suitcases. One for clothes and toiletries, the other full of booze, mixers and books.

History does Not repeat itself through time. It does however, sometimes rhyme.

Re: Harmony of the Seas
Likewise, I don't get it either.
Couldn't think of anything worse than cooped up on a ship where everything is noisy
and people tend to operate 24/7 in Party mode.
Probably like a hotel in Las Vegas but worse.
