Some will remember Ben Benbow of notorious reputation. Sitting in the bar one evening he was introduced to a recently posted Flying Officer lady ATC controller (who turned out to be an excellent individual). Lady to Ben "My name is Hunt". Ben "In that case we had better call you Isaac". Lady looks mystified and nobody wanted to explain the joke.

Nowadays he would not have finished the sentence before he was reprimanded.

Knew of a Wayne Kerr (and another Kerr whose well-deserved nickname was Wang). Daughters were at school were at school with a couple of brothers called Allan and Peter Nuss.

I knew an American A-10 pilot called Steve Deaux.
His nickname was of course...Dil

and a GR1 pilot called Richard Ead, who was just called Richard. I guess everyone figured he'd had enough abuse during his schooldays.
