Rumours that Raheem Sterling's jockstrap will be auctioned after the match - proceeds to go to the BoJo retirement fund.

Yet again England snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

Sack Westgate and get a manger who doesn't pick any Manchester City players. They may play as a great unit together for Pep at City, but when playing for their various countries all have been seen to be lacking in this tournament.

Usual fighting, vomiting etc after the match - it's good for the boys and girls to let off steam eh? Watch the Covid case numbers in a week or so but they're mostly youngsters so no problem for them, just for their parents and any other old folk like me!

Seriously though, what point are the petulant little boys making by taking off their runner up medals immediately after they were awarded? Maybe it's after British schooling mantras where no one is a loser - they're all winners on the games pitches even when they lose.

While I'm on this rant - usual weasel words from politicians about nasty racist stuff online about the boys who missed the penalties - but when will they actually do something positive to counter this crap?

Same here over possible movie (already!) about the 51 people murdered in Christchurch - just usual earnest fawning and emoting from the leaderene.

It's all very well to look up to a good manager and use him as a role model, but couldn't they have skipped that bit?

Mrs PN summed it up, 3 hours of my life I will never get back. We won and Italy got the cup.

One suggestion for a draw after extra time, award the cup to the side with fewer yellow cards.

Or better, as in Saturday's rugby, award a penalty goal. Instant retribution and they wouldn't do it again. How you can grab someone's collar, pull them back and only get a red card.

The other rugby one was yellow card and in the sinbin fof 10 minutes.

I'm no fan of the footy, but without asking anybody, I know an enormous number of Scots (but not all) are relieved that it wasn't Engerlaaand wot won it!

The village idiots emptied peoples bins into the street as they staggered home from the local pub last night, suppose they thought that they were making a statement to be proud of.
Personally thought the best team won on the night, although it was close.

1DC - that's called exercising 'personal responsibility' or some other Boris imagined facet of English behaviour.

1DC, I think they had more possession and more shots at goal. On that measure you are right. Of yellow cards I think they had a clear lead.

I did like the friendly aspects though helping an opposing player to his feet or tossing the ball to the other player.

The news that England players may take month months to get over this tribulattion leads me to think they should be bit more philosophical about the whole thing.

I know Ibbie has more important things on his mind at the moment, but he likes to be kept up-to date with Mike Riley’s VAR world :D

Gast flabbered

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the Spanish club is 1.35bn euros (£1.15bn) in debt, describing the situation as "very worrying".

The club's wage bill currently accounts for 103% of total income.

Laporta blames predecessor Josep Maria Bartomeu for the debt, accusing him of leaving a "terrible inheritance".

Extending Lionel Messi's contract would have made the wage bill accountable for 110% of revenue, which La Liga refused to accept.
