The former referee's chief Keith Hackett has spoken out regarding all the nonsense in the press about Clattenburg and what a load of tosh it is.

Not from everyone's favourite paper but interesting statistics.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4073066/Mike-Dean-given-penalties-red-cards-Premier-League-referee-season.html

Interestingly enough when you google Keith Hackett you get taken to a website called "you are the ref" and Hackett's verdict.

https://you-are-the-ref.com/hacketts-verdict-mark-clattenburg-named-referee-year-2016-global-soccer-awards/

He doesn't slate Clattenburg at all, rather praises him!

From our newly acclaimed referee expert Keith Hackett, whose verdict on Liverpool v City's ref is more than damming.

https://you-are-the-ref.com/hacketts-verdict-craig-pawson-not-refereeing-premier-weekend/

So possibly not a look forward to either side!

Woody, are we having a side bet??

I've always said that Keith is a top man and have so on the old thread. Used to enjoy watching him referee in the NPL many years ago. Unfortunately his style of refereeing would not suit the modern hierarchy, if he were active today. However his knowledge is second to none.

Sorry Laser, but I never bet on the Reds, still working on how to see the game as I've booked a restaurant on the Waterfront in Cape Town at the same time as kickoff :-o

Even Sky Sports are making fun of The Mail's poor/abysmal soccer reporting and thinking their readers are morons.

Yes only just seen. Got out of hospital at 5am. Wet floor in bar slipped and twisted my left knee the one with no cartilages. Swollen and can hardly walk. Never mind a long way to go.

thinking their readers are morons.

Quite a jibe. Wonder how many Mirror readers are termed as less? Seeing as I read the telegraph as well will think myself lucky that as a so called moron I can hold a job like mine.

But I am not that sort of guy. Get a life. Morons sue men bite their lips and man up.Wuss or man I am the latter. Maybe I can counter sue the IRA for every time I was shot at, mortared, bombed or rocketed, or saw my friend killed in front of me. They are now after a 75 year old Chelsea pensioner. I am not of that ilk. Man up and grow some.

Enough is enough! Just looking to be helpful. A simple reply would have sufficed not a trip back in time and personal insult. Perhaps if your interested so much in the historic problems in NI, you should have a read about John Stalker's investigations that have just come to light and start a thread on that. Keep it off the FOOTBALL thread please.

Back to FOOTBALL.

All the "experts" agree that Lee Mason had a stinker yesterday,( nothing new there), Ibro's disallowed goal was perfectly legal. Many other decisions hopelessly wrong.

Lets hope this year City get some decent defenders. Throwing too many points away.

Oh dear.

Mike Dean was awful as well as abysmal today. Not a red card and cautions given that weren't , plus another bang on red that went unpunished.

Shocker. He needs standing down for the rest of the season.

I hope he's embarrassed.

Seems a lot of the refs need a size 12 up their rear ends. Considering the premier league is supposed to be the best in the world, our refs definitely aren't.

Have only seen the results, as I was at the Test Match at Newlands all day, apparently we had the well known Mancunian, Taylor in charge again, which must be suspicious.

Mike Phelan didn't last long. Officially 83 days.

Bournemouth nearly upset the apple cart. Can Spurs do the same tomorrow?

Must say, surprised and shocked at the Palace performance.

Dreadful.
All generalisations are false, including this one.
