Another class performance :((
Jose Mourinho cupped his hand to his ear and taunted the Juventus fans following his Manchester United side's dramatic comeback in the Champions League group encounter in Turin on Wednesday.

Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci approached to Mourinho to complain after the full-time whistle, while striker Paulo Dybala also questioned him.

The United boss was then hustled down the tunnel by officials and his coaching staff.

Mourinho said afterwards he has "respect for Juventus" and was reacting to "insults" from the home fans.

"In a beautiful Italian city, they insulted me for 90 minutes," Mourinho, who managed Juventus' rivals Inter Milan between 2008 and 2010, told BT Sport. "I didn't insult them. I just made a little thing.

Spuds caught telling porkies [-X
Tottenham have been warned by an advertising watchdog after a promotion which claimed their new stadium would be the "only place in London" to watch Champions League football this season.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has sent the club an advice notice and told them to avoid making claims they cannot fulfil.

Spurs have used Wembley as their home, with work on their stadium overrunning.

A fan of North London rivals Arsenal complained to the ASA.

The new stadium, on the site of their old White Hart Lane ground, is now not set to open until at least January 2019.

And Tottenham face a battle to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage, needing to win both their final group matches against Inter Milan and Barcelona.

Quote from the Echo website ~X(
What a lovely time to play football. Noon on a Sunday. This is what the game is all about. Tradition. Heritage. Not playing games on a Monday night because there’s an international break so trying to get as many on telly the day before.

Great stuff. Absolutely lovely stuff.

What’s he been drinking?
Marouane Fellaini believes Manchester United are not far from matching Manchester City's quality despite trailing their rivals by 12 points.

City beat United 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the final league game before the international break, leaving them eighth in the Premier League and seven points off the top four.

But United midfielder Fellaini told Sky Sports Jose Mourinho's side are not as far away from the Premier League leaders as the table suggests - and he is already eyeing revenge for that defeat at the Etihad in the teams' next scheduled meeting at Old Trafford in March.

Manager Martin O'Neill and his assistant Roy Keane have parted company with the Republic of Ireland.

The pair took over the reins in 2013 and guided the Republic to the last 16 of the 2016 European Championships.

However, they did not win a competitive game in 2018 and were relegated from Uefa Nations League Group B4.

"I thank Martin, Roy, and the management team for the impact they had," said Football Association of Ireland (FAI) chief John Delaney.

"There have been many highlights during Martin's reign - none more so than Euro 2016 in France, which will live long in the memory of all Irish supporters."

O'Neill, who leaves alongside his backroom team of Keane, Steve Guppy and goalkeeping coach Seamus McDonagh, signed a contract extension in January to remain as manager until 2020.
