I actually liked Swarbrick as a referee, but I might be biased as he was in charge when JuniorWoody was a mascot at Anfield, he even checked his boots in the tunnel and Liverpool always seemed to win with him as ref. However he’s definitely following the script of his employers. :((

They need to introduce the concept of the challenge, as seen in other sports. Each team gets a certain number of challenges per match, if correct then they get another, if wrong they don't. That might even stop some of the diving for penalties, if the defending side can force a review, with the added bonus of getting the attacker booked for it.

Tottenham have sacked head coach Mauricio Pochettino after five years in charge of the Premier League club.

The former Southampton boss, 47, was appointed in May 2014 and led the club to the Champions League final last season, where they lost to Liverpool.

But Spurs have made a disappointing start to the current campaign and are 14th in the Premier League.

"We were extremely reluctant to make this change," said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

It's a pity sacking politicians wasn't as easy.

Yes, but they just keep making the same mistakes :-o

Jose Mourinho has been appointed Tottenham manager, succeeding Mauricio Pochettino who was sacked on Tuesday.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Mourinho has signed a contract until the end of the 2022-23 season./quote]

I thought Spurs wanted to improve? I fail to see how Mourinho is an improvement on Pochettino.

I see Jose's character hasn't changed a bit.
Reporter: Did losing the Champions League final affect Spurs?
Jose: "I don't know because I never lost a Champions League final."

Wonder what Laser would say about this :ymdevil:
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still believes they are a bigger club than Manchester City.

City are well placed to finish above their rivals for a seventh successive season, which has not happened since the 1930s.

The Blues have won three Premier League titles since the last of United's 20 successes in 2013.

Asked before Saturday's Manchester derby whether he still regarded United as being bigger, Solskjaer said: "Yes."

Well he is correct.

Remember, United own their ground, whilst City play their home games at the BCH (Biggest Council House in the World).

Scheduling idiots at TV companies have the final 20 minutes of todays match clashing with first 20 minutes of Strictly Come Hobling semi-final.

Will be the cause of quite a few domestic arguments today.

Windsor Castle is owned by the Crown, so not a council house like the Emptyhead which is owned by Manchester City Council.

Anyway it was a great way to put the noisy neighbours in their place yesterday and as their fans behaviour proved, they don't like it up'em.

Respect to Liverpool FC

The FA has told Liverpool FC they won’t be allowed to host England matches unless they allow press access to The Sun.

Are the stay-away supporters at the Toon having an impact on Ashley?

Free tickets to fill St James's

Even more astonishing is the fact the Toon have more points than games played. :-o
