I remember that run well. It was also, IIRC, the start of the famous "There's only one Job on Teeside" chant !
I think that chant came later, the 2 Europa games were Maccarone's 'Golden Hour'.

That was about as long as it lasted.

Liverpool v Spurs Champions League Final, wonder what the odds on that were after the first legs last week. B-)

It's like Number 7 buses; you wait twenty years for impossible victories by English teams in the Champions League finals, then two come along at once ;)))

We did that a couple of times, it was before BA bought them, but we weren't impressed.

Only direct flight to Madrid, otherwise it’s back to LHR and try to get out on the day of the Match :(
Flown them a couple of times, not impressed, but BA aren’t great nowadays either.

We did one trip to Malaga which meant changing at Madrid each way, the other was a 3 cornered trip that included London, Iberia were very reasonable on price for this trip. Very little extra to fly Malaga to LHR.

On our return, when checking in at LHR, and attempting to get seats for the next leg, caused chaos!

It would seem that English teams have a monopoly on European footie this season.

Oh! and none of them come from Manchester!!!

And now Arsenal - Chelsea for the other one. You'd probably have gotten good odds on two all-English finals at the start of the season.

Aviation content - seems there are no scheduled flights between London and Baku close to the date of the final, so getting a large chunk of London over there could be an interesting exercise.
