Re: The New Football Thread
I hope City are proud of what they have achieved this morning in getting one of the most plesant managers in the Premiership sacked after yesterday: Chris Hughton.
Please tell me that referee Moss has been compulsorily retired after yesterday. Is he due an appointment at Specsavers?

Re: The New Football Thread
If you’d watched Brighton recently you would know that they’ve been awful for most of the season, game against Cardiff being prime example, if they won they were safe, lost 0-2 first shot on target after about 80 minutes. City were nailed on to win yesterday.
Madrid next, 1st June
Think I’ll have a fiver on the first manager to be sacked next season, a Norwegian is best bet

Re: The New Football Thread
Miscreant clubs had better be fearful of being found guilty, when you see the punishment dished out to Reus in the Spanish lega 123.
Failed to pay wages going back to end of 2018 and ran up debts of €6 million plus. Players refused to play without pay and some terminated their contracts. At one point this season only had 15 players. Banned from playing professional football for three seasons and kicked out of league.
Club is now being wound up.

He’s not in it for the money
Real Madrid must pay Paris St-Germain's 27-year-old Brazil forward Neymar £1.2m a week in order to take him to the Bernabeu.

Re: The New Football Thread
Sad to record that Jose Antonio Reyes, the former Arsenal player and Spanish international has been killed in a car crash this morning in Utrera.
He was aged 35 and had been playing for Extramajura in Spanish league two. His last match was two weeks ago.

It is reported that Reyes was driving the car and that it was doing in excess of 220 kph when it crashed. His cousin was the other fatality.

Re: The New Football Thread
Situation normal at Chelsea
Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle for their manager Maurizio Sarri to join Serie A champions Juventus.
An agreement was reached late on Thursday evening after talks between senior officials. A deal could be completed as early as Friday.
It is understood a compensation fee in excess of £5m has been agreed.
Sarri arrived from Napoli in July 2018 and led the Blues to third place in the Premier League and won the Europa League in his one season in charge.
Despite signing a three-year deal last July, he will become the ninth full-time manager to leave the club under Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
When all else fails, read the instructions.
Re: The New Football Thread
So who's in the frame to replace him at Chelsea? Are all the big names now mysteriously very busy and not available?

Michel Platini, the former president of Uefa and head of European football, has been arrested over the decision to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.
The former France international captain was detained by French police on Tuesday morning in Nanterre, a western suburb of Paris, as part of the investigation into corruption surrounding how the 2022 World Cup hosting rights were awarded, according to French investigative outlet Mediapart.
