I wonder how many people will turn up and hold vigil outside the ground?

Re: The New Football Thread
Oh good grief
[/Middlesbrough have sacked head coach Jonathan Woodgate and appointed Neil Warnock as his replacement.
Boro are 21st in the Championship after losing 3-0 at home to Swansea City in their first game since the season restarted on Saturday.
Former Leeds, Real Madrid and England defender Woodgate, 40, was appointed last summer but oversaw just nine wins.
Warnock, 71, has been without a club since leaving Cardiff City after more than three years last November. quote]

Re: The New Football Thread
I wasn't impressed with the appointment of Woodgate.
The problem is that it is difficult to criticise a chairman who is too patriotic to local candidates and guys that have come through the ranks from playing for the club. After all, he who pays the piper et al. He has put about £400,000 a week into the club, for the last 10 years!
For that he has 1 League Cup win, 1 EUAFA Cup runner up, 1 FA Cup runner up and 2 League Cup runners up.
He is almost a god on Teesside, 2nd only to Jimmy Cook as Teesside's greatest son.

Meanwhile, here in Jockistan, Hearts are taking legal action having been relegated from the Premiership when the season was abandoned. Should be fun; I might wander up to the Court of Session for a laugh and to say hello to some old friends.

Did you know that the late Yul Brynner was life-long Liverpool supporter and that he never, ever wore after-shave?
Yes, Yul never wore cologne.

Flipping through channels today came across EPL game with crowd sound effects in empty stadium.
Is the "crowd response" modulated, ie. a goal or a close scoring attempt?
Does it make any difference to you vs. quiet?

David Ellery ex Harrow School housemaster, has been retired for a number of years.
The man supposedly in charge of this paper bag with a hole in, is Mike Riley who was one of the worst referees ever. Thereby hangs the problem. He is not fit for purpose.
Ellery was a far better referee than Riley ever was.

My mistook, I met Ellery a few years ago at JNB, was difficult to not tell him about the abuse that we gave him at AnfieldIbbie wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 7:45 amDavid Ellery ex Harrow School housemaster, has been retired for a number of years.

Blimey, the bloke in that first image looks a bit like Dominic Cummings - he's not controlling football as well now, is he? Mind you, if his eyesight is impaired, he could be the perfect man for the job!
