Of course, the danger is that Spurs will get a good manager and they'll start winning things.

If Spurs are last to pull out do they get to keep the trophy?

Depends whether he was a 'simple' employee or a limited company.

Apparently the special one has picked up £77.5 million in payoffs during his time in football.

It's a bunch of rich club owners who want to set up a closed shop along the lines of top American sports where they get to play for big money each year with no fear of relegation or missing out on lucrative European competition qualification. Several American owners in that group too.

Has anyone else noticed that before being employed by Manchester United, Ed Woodward was employed by J P Morgan, who were/are funding the ESL?

Also is there anything in the fact that he resigned as Vice-President at Manchester United shortly before they withdrew from the ESL?

Quite probably. I assumed the two events were connected.

As most know I know little of football. As an outside observer so to speak why does anyone pay Sam Allardyce ?

To be fair to Sam, this is the first time he's been relegated when he's been brought in after a team has had a crap start to the season. Particularly fitting that it was Arsenal who sent him down after his comment around the time of the reverse fixture that they were fellow relegation contenders.
